Avatar f tn From the symptoms you have mentioned, he seems to be having a serious kidney infection which may have been caused or aggravated by obstruction due to the kidney stones. Reddish and cloudy urine indicates that there is hemorrhage somewhere along the urinary tract, if not from the kidney itself, and this can be accompanied by pus cells in the urine.
Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor, but do have too much experience with kidney stones. For me, I'd get pings and pangs in my kidney as well as microhematuria (blood you cannot see by eye) in my urine when I have stones. I've also had the flank pain you describe .. for me it's been in the lower back. I hope with lots of water your stones move out for you uneveventfully. Please keep in touch. From what I've read stones <5.0mm usually move out on their own with a high % of non-complications, etc.

Avatar m tn When it first began it was so painful that I went repeatedly to the doctors, who initially thought it was kidney stones, as there was a small amount of blood in my urine. I have had a kidney function blood test, which came back fine, a sample of urine was sent to the lab, which also came back fine, and I have also had a CT Scan, and again, I was told this was fine. This made everyone think that I had passed the stones.
Avatar n tn Since then, the pain has continued and my urologist cannot find any stones in my ureter through x-ray and IVP. He believes that the small stones in my kidney cannot be causing the pain and the stone in my ureter must be gone. He is now telling me to have my ovaries checked. I do not believe for one second that it is anything but a kidney stone. You ALL know the pain. It is the same as it has always been.

Avatar f tn I went to MY GP who was concerned about the abrupt onset of symptoms and the possibility of a PE associted with the long car drive home from vacation and ordered a chemistry panel, d-dimer and chest xray . I went to the ER of the hospital where I work and was so short of breath and hypotensive I had to sit. My blood values showed an increased Creatinine and BUN with a decreased(35)GFR. Also, my blood count test was normal with the exception of eosinophil percentage of 8%. Avatar n tn can cause this. However, my doctor does not seem to think it med. related. Also, kidney stones and kidney disease. Have you had a blood work up?
Avatar n tn php Other causes of blood in the urine include kidney infections, kidney stones, and bladder cancer. Has he had any blood tests done? If yes, was there any other sign, such as anemia or elevated ESR? If his renal function is failing you need to take him to a center where he can receive the attention of a nephrologist and an oncologist, if it turns out to be cancer ( and I'm sorry to say it seems that way). Do write in with any doubts you have.
