t bad for a very long time and then all of a sudden they started happening again and more often and my mono-clonic seizures were gettin worse. Instead of just my eyes and head twitching and what not. My arms would jerk, and if I was standing my knees would always buckle. And I got tired of worrying bout when or if ones gonna happen. Worrying about if I stay up too late am I gonna have one. So I got put back on my medication. I'm 19 years old I've been back on it for about 6 months now.
Think you should talk to someone familiar with the Ketogenic diet and see if there could be a relationship. I understand there are a number of hospitals which except this now as a treatment for epilespy. Maybe you could google it on line and find one close to you so you could talk to the people more about this procedure. From what I read it is important to address the problem earily in order to prevent brain damage.
My Son having seizures When he was 7 months old in August 1st 2014 eye rolling moving to left. We went to A&E we stayed 2 weeks However all tests came back showing nothing brain Scan MRI and EEG All normal, Sometimes head turns to left too when it's strong. His seizures Always to left.Eye rolling moving to left continued but we were able to control them without medication, We were doing a mixture of Chinese medicine & acupuncture and homeopathy.
just checked what a ketogenic diet is, this type of diet is extremely unhealthy and damages livers of any person hbver or not
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet:

adequate-protein is ok but from vegetable or little white meat, no red meat, no diaries
low-carbohydrate leads nowhere, it is processed and refined carbohydrates to increase blood glucose which makes damage, so the problems is refined cereals not not carbohydrates

I am sorry, but most antibiotics can cause seizures as complications and some like erythromycin and related antibiotics affect the efficacy of seizure medications. But if you need to take antibiotic, augmentin should be ok, but please take a multivitamin B with it. There is no antibiotic (in my knowledge) which can be considered 100% safe, but like I said earlier, the incidence of seizures with augmentin is pretty low. Hope this helps.
He gets subcutaneous fluids daily at home and is now on a kidney diet. Initially he wasn’t eating the kidney diet but now he does. (Canned wet food) A few weeks ago he started getting myoclonic seizures. They went away recently for a few days and now are back again. I tried Azodyl for him but as soon as I started it he declined fast and got better once I stopped it. He’s on cerenia for nausea as needed and appetite stimulant.
Sometimes doctors start withv igabatrin (Sabril) which is often used as the initial therapy because it is relatively safe (especially for short-term use) and effective. If vigabatrin does not control the seizures in 3 or 4 days, adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is usually used next. ACTH stops seizures in more than half of children with infantile spasms. My daughter is on a modified ketogenic diet called Low Glycemic Index Treatment, it is not as strict as keto and allows for more carbs and protein. LGIT is different than the low glycemic diet you hear about for wt loss. In general Low Glycemic foods help to keep blood sugar even and helps to prevent those highs and lows. was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.

She has been diagnosed with refractory complex partial and generalized seizures. She has also been diagnosed with seizures during sleep. I noticed recently when she is sleeping she would have these movements that looks like twitching and shrugging her shoulder/s. Sometimes her shoulders and arms will jump up inches off her body. Sometimes it would happen 1 or 2 times in a row sometimes up to 10-15 times rhythmically. Sometimes it's both arms at the same time and sometimes it's 1.
I suffered from both illnesses as a child more signifcantly as a teen, and now in my adult life I am fully diagnosed and monitored by my physicians and clinics as having bipolar 1 and epilepsy, there is some relation to the two, but as a gene carrier of the two disorders, I feel the seizures started first at infancy, and progressed to full blown myoclonic and partial focal seizures as an adult. My brother aswell father and grandfather aswell suffer with seizures, and mental illness.
