Avatar f tn Ortho tri cyclen helps with the acne. Dermatologist use it for their patients sometimes for acne. I've been on it for a month and my face cleared up completely. I love it.
1063764 tn?1272821064 t get back to the endocrinologist for another 4 months for my next test, so I did not want to stop the medication. Does anyone know how long it stays in your body...I was considering not taking it for a few weeks just to see if this cleared up.
Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your advice! I really appreciate that. I didn't take the test after my missed period though, however I made sure I took it after two weeks since the condom broke. I should be getting my period by saturday or sunday. Tomorrow will be the start of my two green pills, then on friday I will begin to take my blue pills (inactive pills). Would you suggest that I take another test just to be sure? Or will I be alright?
Avatar m tn I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.
Avatar f tn sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
11728532 tn?1451774466 About a month ago, I had intercourse and afterwards I bled heavily and had cramps for a week. I should not have gotten my period for another two weeks according to my pills. When I took the pills that started my period, It was very light and ended two days early. We used a condom but I'm scared. I've been constipated, had thicker vaginal discharge, and pain in the left and right sides of my abdomen. Why did I bleed? Why am I having weird symptoms now? Could I be pregnant?
Avatar m tn m a 21 year old who just stopped the pill after 5 years of being on it consistently. In October I was switched from Azzurette to Kariva, just a generic brand switch. I hated it and decided to go natural and stop the pill all-together around November 13. I got my "withdrawal period" right after.
Avatar f tn ( is there any good skin product that really does work at getting rid of acne, dark spots, bit still make your skin smooth?? Btw I have sensitive skin && some acne products make my skin dry :( please help?
Avatar n tn I get it on my chest, back and face I have went to a derm since I was 18 but it never seemed to really help and I felt like since my acne was mild they never really cared. When I get acne it lasts for multiple weeks or months which is why its so agonizing especially cause afterwards I am left with post acne marks that can last up to a year. It has totally messed up my self confidence and has made me totally insecure.

Avatar f tn A common treatment for cystic acne is Isotretinoin, which cures most acne in about 90% of patients. In sever cases a course of oral antibiotics are also recommended. After cysts have mostly healed, macules, or "pseudo scars" may form. Macules are red patches of skin, sometimes raised slightly, where cysts used to be, and may resemble cysts in their appearance.
Avatar f tn I am a 34 y/o mother of 1. I’ve been on BCP for 12 ½ years. In Aug 2007 I started taking Kariva 28 day and stayed on it until Aug 2009. A few months before this, I began having issues with my cycle. I wasn’t getting my period, I got my period early plus the full week I was supposed to, and then I was spotting several days a month. I then found out I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and started treatment hoping that would help. I didn't. I went on Portia 28 for 5 months, Junel 1.
Avatar n tn I have had continuing problems with acne and cysts on my buttocks area for approximately 15 years. I have seen multiple physicians regarding the condition, however, all have either treated me only with antibiotics or considered it an allergic reaction of some sort, regardless, none of the treatments have worked. Recently I went to a new dermatologist who diagnosed me with Acne Inversa, however, he stated it was curable and prescribed me Accutane.
Avatar n tn I don't have a history of acne, but recently I 've been breaking out around my hairline, across my forehead, nose and cheeks. The acne is red and very small bumps, as if it was irritaton. I thought it might be an allergic raction to a hair product or new facial cleanser but stopping use of these new things hasn't stopped the situation. I've recently started back at the gym and running and sweating a lot and a co-worker of mine said that this is probably the cause.
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar n tn I was on Doxy 100mg for about a month for antimalarial reasons, saw a slight improvement in my skin, and was then prescribed Doxy 50mg for acne indefinitely. I’ve been on this for about 3 weeks. I have definitely noticed fewer pimples, but I still have the odd one here and there. I’ve also been using 10% Benzoyl Peroxide gel which I think has worked wonders. I would like to go off Doxy 50mg to see if it is the Doxy or the Benzoyl which has helped my skin.
Avatar f tn I had all the signs and everything. Well since then I took Ortho Lo for the month of April but it SUCKED so bad and I had the most painful cycle and BLED ALOT at the end of April. So now for the month of May I've been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle.
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn I recently read about a genetic test called AcneDX that tests whether or not oral antibiotics will be an effective acne treatment. My teenaged daughter has moderate acne and tetracycline has been suggested. I'm concerned about giving her a medication that may have side effects and produce an antibiotic resistance later in her life, and it may not even work to clear her acne up. The test sounds like a great way to find out prior to treatment if the antibiotics will help.
Avatar f tn I am 24 year old mene toothpaste use kiya tha acne k liye face pay to meri skin pay USNR reaction krdia white patches means discolour my skin please tel me any solution
Avatar f tn Tea tree Oil is the best natural treatment for acne most times but must be used consistantly for a period of 2 weeks to see any results. Hormonal changes, stress etc can cause the acne but it should start to clear with Tea Tree Oil Facewash or from a health food store. Aloe Vera (cut from the plant) is also great for acne. I swear by Aloe Vera (fresh from the plant) for all skin treatments including sunburn, stings etc.
