Okay I am wanting to start birth control not for the usual reason. I want to start it to lighten my periods and help my acne clear up. I've already talked to my mom about it and she supports me on it. I just don't know exactly which pill to look into. Anybody have suggestions? I'll of course do more research but I need some ideas. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Last Wednesday I got my period, and I began taking Kariva Birth Control. On friday, My boyfriend and I decided to have sex, which was dumb, but we used a condom with spermicide on it and in it. After a little bit, the condom popped and he pulled out immediately without ejaculating at all. Then we were finished.
I know that people say that girls can get pregnant on their periods, however, i was only on the 3rd day of my cycle and i highly doubt that i could have ovulated so early...
I went on the pill for the same reason when I was 16. It didn't really make a difference with my acne, but it helped to regulate my periods and made them lighter, and more managable. But my acne got better as I got older. I also used acne cream from my pharmacist, if you go in and ask them, they will normally give you one from behind the counter, they are stronger than the ones you can pick up yourself, but not as strong as if they doctor was to prescribe it for you. I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.
My 15 year old daughter has been treated by her family doctor for thoracic back pain for the past 2 years. She develops severe "knots" in her muscles and has not gotten relief with traditional therapies. Doctor ordered blood tests and an MRI. Her thyroid test came back 7.84 (TSH). He then ordered additional thyroid screen one week later and TSH was 5.39 which I guess is still high. Antibodies test was also run with thyroglobulin at 5.18.
Hi everyone,I am 6 weeks pregnant with my first and I am getting the worst Acne which is driving me crazy. Not only does it look terrible but it hurts alot. Can anyone recommend some remedies to help my situation?
To whoever can help, it'd mean a lot. I'm a 21 year old who just stopped the pill after 5 years of being on it consistently. In October I was switched from Azzurette to Kariva, just a generic brand switch. I hated it and decided to go natural and stop the pill all-together around November 13. I got my "withdrawal period" right after.
I noticed over spring break a small amount of acne (she had been acne free for years). Then when she came home in May the acne started getting worse. She upped her adderall because of training/games and a new job. So she was basically taking it almost every day. Her face broke out horribly. Worse it has ever been. I took her to two dermatologists. Nothing was helping. It was steadily getting worse.
So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what)
Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
It's just a pregnancy thing. You might be able to try Witch Hazel if it is safe during pregnancy. I always found cocoa butter to help me. Yes, moisturizing can help acne!!! I'll find you some proof if you don't believe me, lol!
Hi. Thanks for the reply... Yeah, i'm pretty confused. I suspect i've had HSV1 all my life, because my lips have not felt right at times. I know a lot, if not most have it, so i'm not worried about that. I just thought maybe the HSV1 virus was causing other problems for me.. Like the cause of my acne, a way of releasing the virus? But again, HSV1 or 2, it DOES go away after a while, then come back? Right?
Lately I have noticed that my face is darker..I am dark complected but I have noticed that I look more darker. Also acne problems. Small pimples and dry skin.
It could be acne cysts, but I don't have a picture or a way of feeling them. I get acne cysts on my shoulders and upper back/neck area a few days before my cycle. Some stay there for about a month and some go away after a week.
Are they sometimes itchy or painful? If you press on them, do they hurt or does the skin around the area change color if you mess with one too much? Look up acne cysts to see if this is what you have.
i know all birth controls are different, but they have a lot of similar side effects. i was on yasmin, seasonique, kariva, and now sprintec. the first two that i mentioned: i had my period for about a month. sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
