Avatar n tn And sometimes when I move my jaw I think I can hear some sort of a grating sound from the side of my mouth. What does it mean?
Avatar n tn t remember my first encounter with such pain, but I remember it being very painful. I remember very well that when I would open my mouth, my jaw would lock. I had to open my mouth at its fullest to unlock my jaw. It clicked very frequently. It would lock for one day the disappear for a few days then resume. Then in January of 2016, my jaw locked and I was unable to unlock it. I spent a good 15 minutes trying to get it back to normal. It finally did so later.
Avatar f tn It would start on the side of my mouth, right in front of my ear and just radiate down into my lower jaw, up into my temple, into my ear, into my back teeth, even into my cheek. My jaw was clicking when I opened my mouth. The side of my face in front of the ear was tender when pressed on. Ibuprofen got rid of the pain almost immediately. At that time, there was no actual tooth pain. It felt like ALL my teeth were hurting. The pain didn't go away.
Avatar n tn Is it going to stay like this? Also i cant open my mouth still and when i do it barely opens and i get a wicked bad headack- Can anyone help me?

Avatar m tn My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do? Avatar n tn There is NO PAIN except when I open my mouth....the jaw hurts, or the muscle in the jaw. Is this from the shots the dentist gave me before he extracted the tooth?
2932946 tn?1344722012 Since i had surgery I've had a problem with the left side of my jaw "catching". when i open my mouth very wide it feels like it catches and it's definitely not painless. I never had a problem with it before. Anyone else have this issue?
Avatar f tn I noticed on Sunday afternoon when I was eating lunch that my jaw was hurting - hurt to open my mouth and hurt while chewing. I think I have TMJ, although no dentist has agreed with me, but my jaw clicks and I can see it shift when I open my mouth. So now I have this jaw pain that almost seems connected somehow to my neck -- just not sure if it's a possibility?? And how can I relieve it??!!?? Any input is appreciated!
Avatar m tn I have had a nagging pain in the back of my mouth for almost 3 months now. The pain is located in the hard palate area above my molars on the right side. Dental X-rays have revealed that nothing is wrong. My wisdom teeth are still intact, but 3 dentists and 2 oral surgeons have assured me that they do not need to come out and would not be causing the pain. The pain is like a sharp pressure in that area of my mouth. Almost feels like a sinus infection in that palate/gum region.
Avatar f tn t even yawn in peace anymore or even brush my teeth properly without feeling pain when I try to open my mouth more. This has gone on for three days. I feel a swelling-like bump when I touch the outside of my face. At first I thought it was because of my only grown wisdom tooth because that side of my mouth is where I feel my jaw is locked. That wisdom tooth hasn't bothered me ever since it first started growing, so I didn't think it's because of the tooth.
Avatar f tn I can bear the pain so I go to sleep hoping it will just disapear. When I woke up I feel pain at the back of my head not in the brain. It feels like electric shocks. After 3 days (tuesday) the whole day I was worried about my head because my veins in my head is painful like headache. If I press it it feel pain and the pain travel to other veins conected to that vein. Now I'm afraid to touch my head. I think i experience those because of the pulsing vein.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago. Just over a week later I noticed pain opening my mouth. My whole left side, but predominantly my upper left jaw. I can't open my mouth more than about an inch and my tongue can't poke fully out at all. Together with that I have a nasty taste in my mouth. Any ideas what it could be? I had an injection top and bottom. Top one hurt quite a bit. The pain was diminished a bit this morning till I thought about trying to open my mouth a bit!
Avatar f tn I am getting a bridge made for my bottom left side and had my mouth open for a total of 5 hours in 1 day. The pain in my jaw was severe, and my ear feels like there is something in it. There is also a noise when I chew, or open my mouth. I can't open my mouth very big yet, but it is improving. There is no clicking sound when I open and close my mouth . It is more of a whooshing sound. I have a temporary bridge in and although it is not great the bite is OK. My Dr.
Avatar n tn Burning Left Ear, Crepitus in Left Jaw, Popping sound on Left side, clicking when I open my mouth, The constant burning and tingling in my Left ear, sometimes wakes me up at night and I can sleep.
Avatar f tn I had that problem for a long time because of grinding and clenching my teeth in my sleep so my dentist made me a mouth guard to wear at night. It helped a lot and I wore it until my wisdom teeth shifted my other teeth and it did not fit anymore. If you have medical coverage I would suggest trying it, if not, try just buying a normal sports guard, it would essentially do the same thing.
Avatar n tn I had pain in my jaw too and could not open my mouth to eat more than 1/2 inch. The dentist opened my mouth too wide . This problem went away after 3 days. Next time the dentist did not open my mouth so wide. I have a very small mouth so the average person may be able to handle their jaws to be opened very wide. Next time make sure you tell your dentist not to open it so wide. I think your jaw will get better in time. I would suggest taking Advil due to inflammation. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I have popping of the jaw, when i eat or open my mouth and now ear pain to go with it. It does not hurt when I swallow. There is nothing coming out of my ear either. Do you have an idea and should I talk to a dentist too?
