My husband was recently diagnosed with type II diabetes. His doctor has prescibed janumet. In reading about the drug I've found info stating that "one should not consume excessive alcohol" and also "one should avoid alcohol". My husband drinks at least one glass of wine/beer a day with more on weekends. I'm confused as to what excesive means or if he is suppose to avoid alcohol totally.
Any information would be appreciated.
hi i am presently living in the Philippines and i have run out of my janumet 50mg/500mg tablets and they are not available here in Philippines the only diabetic tablets available where i live are Metformin 500 tablets, can i substitute these for the janumet ?
If your diabetes is not well controlled this could be the cause of your not being able to gain weight. If you have Type 1 diabetes, you may also be at risk for other diseases that can contribute to poor weight gain, like Celiac disease.
The other question is, why do you want to gain weight?
You can some nutrient dense foods like nuts which have good fats and proteins without too high a carb load as part of your diet. Weight bearing exercise is great as a general rule.
Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.
Last night I got up to go to the bathroom, and when I stood up, I became very dizzy, was very nauseated, and broke out into a complete body sweat. This last for approximately 15 minutes, and then the symptoms slowly went away. I thought I had to vomit, but when I intentionally tried to vomit, nothing happened. I have type 2 diabetes and currently take Janumet twice a day. Could this have been low blood sugar, or high blood sugar?
I have been reading having diabetes can lessen your chance of svr if on treatment. I am worring! he is on an oral medication for the type 2 the med is Janumet. His blood sugar is controlled and his doctor said hes doing good on it my question is could this problem lessen his chances for svr? any info is appreciated. Wishing you all on treatment SVR!!!
My diabetese medicine was changed from Pioglar + Metformin 500 twice a day to Janumet 50+1000 twice a day in around March 2011. I have since lost about 15 KG and it is still going down @ 1 kg per month. I was happy to reach my ideal weight. However, I do not know how to stop further loss. I am Diabetic, so can not discontinue Metformin. Any suggestion ?
Hi, I am 53 year old male. I need help for the issue I am having for last 8-9 months. My left temple gets tingling effect, and than numbness on my ear, temple, top of the eye. This stays for may be 5 minutes every time. First CT scan showed swelling on pituitary. After that few MRI, and another CT scan didn't show anything!!! By consultation with neurologist, I am diagnosed having Benign Fasciculation. I am diabetic, taking Janumet, Mavik, Aspirin, Crestor, Celebrex everyday.
I changed my diet to oatmeal and 5 strawberries for breakfast, salad for lunch, dry bran cereal for snack, Healthy Choice Meal for dinner, and slice of bread n peanut butter for bedtime snack to take with my janumet. Because Janumet makes me feel nausea.
My blood sugars are running 308 this week and last night it drop to 219 and gave me a headache. My doctors can't really do much about my meds because my insurance won't pay for my diabetic meds. I am using sample packages.
Sometime later Sept - Oct 09, stiffness of the neck and head getting heavy had me run to my GP for advise. He checked my blood sugar and it was 22 Mmol. I also have had elevated blood sugar problems when I had a boil somewhere on the body or the neck getting stiff, after a while it went away. I've not had the other symptoms of Diabetes2 like frequent urination, weight loss etc. Dr. started me off with Galvusmet 100mg.
The meds for Type 2 will not work for Type 1; they may work initially for LADA, but you will eventually require insulin. Do you have any other type of autoimmune disease like Hypothyroidism? That would make you a higher risk for Type 1 or LADA. PLEASE insist to your doctor that you want to be tested.
m not sure if she used a new condom(I was drunk).The place were this happened (a small alley) is known for not that being to careful about hygene.Also for financial reasons they often use condoms(for blowjobs) more then once.
Well,I'm just scared that the condom she put on me was already used and the chance for me contracting hiv if this was previously used by an hiv positive man.I never came but had plenty of precum if that might help for information).
I take my bolld sugars of a morning fasting and they are like 167-191, I take 1000 mg of janumet and 18 units of lantus before bed, of a morning I take 20 Units of lantus, 45 mg actos why am I having problems regulating my blood sugars, I also take 7 units of novalog after every meal??? Do you have any other sugustions??
I am 27 years old. Diabetic on Janumet (Januvia and Metfromin 50/1000 2x daily) I have PCOS in a severe state. I have not had a period in 8 years. Not even Provera can induce. My testosterone is 387 as of last week. Last years reading was 197 ng/ml.
My estrogen is minimal. My ovaries are enlarged with a thickened stroma including many cysts. I have one adopted child but no biological. I am the poster child (according to my gyn) for Turners Syndrome. Short (5'1" 230 lbs.
