My OB said it should be ok, My neuro dr said give it a try but pain clinic dr said don't. What should I do? I have taken it for 3 days now. I also have PCOS.
Avatar f tn I know that celebrex can be hard on the stomach; is it possible this could be the case with you? Just a thought.
Avatar f tn I have a close family memeber, (a nurse also) has taken Celebrex daily for a number of years. It is very effective for relieving her severe bi-lateral knee pain and she feels the benefits out weight the risks. She is 49. Celebrex may cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction, and stroke, which can be fatal. All nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may have a similar risk. This risk may increase with duration of use.
Avatar m tn I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.

Avatar n tn Hello Scscscsc, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum at MedHelp. I am sorry you are having such tiredness. Have you been on these meds for very long? I don't know the dosages you are taking but put all together they can make you feel a bit tired. Usually with time this side effect will ease. Our bodies usually adjust to the medications. Cymbalta really put me in a bit of a stupor. It may be your combination that is effecting you.
Avatar m tn While sleep is still an issue, I am still relieved of the morning depression I have been feeling for 15 months. My Arthritis is kicking into high gear. As much as I know the norco will help with the pain, I don't want the depression. I went to my first na meeting tonight which hit the spot. It is like my AA meetings, when I go, I hear what I needed to hear. Then I walked 2+ miles. Don't know if that helped or hindered my pain.
Avatar m tn The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
Avatar f tn I was on Celebrex for 15 months (I was on treatment for 18). The problem with Celebrex is that long term use can be hard on the heart.
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.

418155 tn?1205409893 it is a non-steroidal medication for inflammation and pain...like ibuprofen but is stronger...
Avatar n tn I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?
Avatar dr m tn I have had a long road of back pain / meds / surgery / injections etc. you back pain suffers know the drill. This summer I had the facet injections and blocks in order to see if I was a candidate for RF Rhizotomy. It was determined by two specialists I was. Before diving into another invasive procedure, I visited a pain management doctor. ONE of the many things we did was try Celebrex. Now I was very skeptical as it had done nothing prior to surgery.
Avatar f tn No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
358304 tn?1409709492 about jumping up to the 20 mg dosage as that is what I have read is more effective for anxiety and 10 is for depression... I still experience some anxiety and depression with the 10 mg dosage even though it's greatly improved. My point is... if your dr. told you it was ok to drop down to 2.5 mg... then do it. No adjustment should be necessary as this dosage is probably a placebo effect for you.
Avatar f tn This might not be a potential case for lawsuit. These are the known side effects of celebrex, which may be more pronounced in some individuals. Though celebrex carries the risk of gastritis and GI ulceration, like other NSAIDS; the incidence is slightly lower as compared to others. Symptom of GI reflux can be aggravated by it. Rhythm abnormalities (early de-polarisation/ re-polarisation) may not be related to celebrex use.
1155483 tn?1262432647 As with any NSAID (which Toradol is), there is a increased risk for stomach issues with it, including gastro bleeding. Nausea and vomiting is quite common. Another thing to consider with the NSAIDS is that they can also raise blood pressure, so if you have a blood pressure problem (and even if you don't) - you need to watch it very carefully taking this type of medication.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
529356 tn?1212781553 t support a diagnosis of arthritis and I am normal, maybe fibro. What helps is celebrex or other nsaids (some more than others) and small amounts of steroids. She has forbidden me to take anything but the occasional tramadol which just puts me to sleep for a little then doesn't really help the joints. Am I crazy or what? Also, I am on antidepressants for recurring depression and just got back on them in case it is all in my head but they don't help.
