hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.

sorry to jump in, but i had the impression that Celebrex was going to be taken out of the market for several reasons. It is not sold in South America because of that, since people were complaining about these symptoms you metion (upset stomach, etc) and one of them was "bouncing pain". Amy, did they put you straight on Celebrex, or did you try other mild over the counter painkillers? i suffer from both AS and MS, and i take higher doses of Advil or any other Iboprufen around.

Sounds like a stronger pain medicine would help, and also I would go back to the doctor who hit a nerve and demand that he do something. Celexa is for arthritis pain, I'm surprised you're on this. Plus, Celexa has many side effects, which may be adding to your problems, I refused to take it. Can you tell me what type of kidney problems you have, and what is being done for it?

I believe a person should not be on Celebrex very long term due to the side effects. SAMe may be something you want to look into. Some studies show that patients showed similar to greater pain relief after 60 days of SAMe when compared to Celebrex. I'm starting that transition now. Also take Omega3's (in pretty high doses) and trying to really get after the CORE work as most physicians will tell you that has a tremendous effect on all types of low back pain. Hello tobinc, I just finished reading your comments. If I understand you correctly, you say you are having some issues with your left shoulder and neck. My chiropractor, I have neck and back issues, says that sometimes if you have a problem with neck pain it can connect with your shoulder. My husband actually has problems with his right shoulder and neck. He picked up something really heavy while helping his mom and dad at their house and threw out his shoulder.

My pain is in cotrol but my husband is also worried about the side effects. Is there something else I could take with the same effect on pain but that I could lose this weight. I also take cymbalta and celebrex. Please help.

I am on week one treating type A and feeling really bad side effects. I feel almost ready to do something drastic. I called the psychologist at the clinic and she said that the side effects are worse in the first week. Is this true? Neurontin has alot of side effects. I took it and Ik alot of other people that have taken it and that are now taking it. I personally feel that the bad outweighs the good when it comes to this drug and Lyrica. There are so many bad side effects. Pitted edema, weight gain, blurred vision, sleep eating, can cause more pain than before you started, hangover into next day, brain fog, headaches etc... Just look up adverse reactions to this drug and see if you are experiencing them.

My orthopedic specialist tried switching me to Lyrica for 3 months back in 2014 with horrible immediate side effects. Switched back to Gabapentin. I am asking if there is another neuropathic pain medication to use as an alternative to Gabapentin. I agree that the Gaba helps with nerve pain, however the side effects are scaring me. Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

Up until February, I had been on opiates for a few years. Norco along with Celebrex and Robaxin (muscle relaxer). I had more side effects from all the NSAID's I was on before my insurance would finally approve Celebrex, than I did with the Norco. The only side effect I had with Norco was nausea with vomiting only when it got really bad. But that was only if I took it on an empty stomach. But the pain relief outweighed the nausea because I took an anti histamine to counter act it.

If its not the Rebif, it could very well be that you are reacting to your own situation (situational depression) or to the physical effects of the disease (chemical depression). It is well documented that depression in MS patients is very common, and it can be caused by the disease itself or the effect of knowing you have this MiSerable disease. I hope that makes sense.

I have suffered through the fever, the body aches, let me make that severe muscle pains, abdominal pains, and the list goes on. The one side effect that is really worrying me is the depression. I have never been so depressed in my life. In fact I have never been what I would call depressed. I've have some really hard times but I've always been able to push through. Now I can't even get up to go to work. I cry over everything. I'm not a crier.

Time to talk to a psychologist, and google your meds and see what the side effects are -- maybe your instincts are right, maybe not.

Because If not I might as well just quit now and remain putting up with major anxiety and depression. That side effect will make me depressed if it doesn't go away.
