hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.

I believe a person should not be on Celebrex very long term due to the side effects. SAMe may be something you want to look into. Some studies show that patients showed similar to greater pain relief after 60 days of SAMe when compared to Celebrex. I'm starting that transition now. Also take Omega3's (in pretty high doses) and trying to really get after the CORE work as most physicians will tell you that has a tremendous effect on all types of low back pain. this does not sound like a normal reaction, and why, for heavens sake, if she is having these side effects, should she stay on it.

I do know that all to often things like this are not listed as side effects. The problem is that the doctors and or patients do not report them and so they too often get looked over as is the case here. I am sure there are many documented cases they just are not reported. I am not sure what the protocol is far as doctors reporting side effects but we as Pt's can call the pharmaceutical company and report effects. this will help many.

Hello tobinc, I just finished reading your comments. If I understand you correctly, you say you are having some issues with your left shoulder and neck. My chiropractor, I have neck and back issues, says that sometimes if you have a problem with neck pain it can connect with your shoulder. My husband actually has problems with his right shoulder and neck. He picked up something really heavy while helping his mom and dad at their house and threw out his shoulder.

Hello, I was seen in the ER today for a migraine and they gave me a mixture of compazine, benadryl, toradol and a steroid through an IV. I was wondering what possible side effects I may encounter.

My pain is in cotrol but my husband is also worried about the side effects. Is there something else I could take with the same effect on pain but that I could lose this weight. I also take cymbalta and celebrex. Please help.

Neurontin has alot of side effects. I took it and Ik alot of other people that have taken it and that are now taking it. I personally feel that the bad outweighs the good when it comes to this drug and Lyrica. There are so many bad side effects. Pitted edema, weight gain, blurred vision, sleep eating, can cause more pain than before you started, hangover into next day, brain fog, headaches etc... Just look up adverse reactions to this drug and see if you are experiencing them.

So the surgeon took me off all activity and had me rest for 2 weeks on celebrex. Swelling went down (of course) and then he said resume activity slowly. Swelling returned. Now he tells me that I have to rest again for another 6 weeks and Im back on celebrex. Does rest really make it heal? Will it ever get better? I am really frustrated and want to get back out on the field. it has been 5 monthes for a procedure that was suppose to take 8 weeks to be healed. Thank you for your help!

I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and prescribed Plaquenil and naproxen (for swelling and pain relief.) I am on a low sodium diet for meniere's disease. Various pain relievers make me retain fluid......making me too dizzy and light headed to drive. Can you recommend a product, OTC or prescription, that contains little to no sodium? I have read the sodium in pain relievers help to quicken relief of pain......

I have been advised to take Celebrex or Topamax for headaches. Which treats headaches/migraines better? Which has had more success?

ve since heard that it can reduce the effects of Tamoxifen. Is there anything I can do about the weight/swelling and/or the hot flashes. Now, I can't even handle mild exercise for more than fifteen minutes without shortness of breath and sweating profusely. I'm tempted to stop taking the Tamoxifen.

Up until February, I had been on opiates for a few years. Norco along with Celebrex and Robaxin (muscle relaxer). I had more side effects from all the NSAID's I was on before my insurance would finally approve Celebrex, than I did with the Norco. The only side effect I had with Norco was nausea with vomiting only when it got really bad. But that was only if I took it on an empty stomach. But the pain relief outweighed the nausea because I took an anti histamine to counter act it.

I too have migrating joint pain, but no swelling. I take Celebrex and it controls the pain nearly 100%. I was taking pain meds, Oxycodone, lowest dose. But that didn't work as well as Celebrex. So now it's just the Celebrex.
