So the best way of using APRI is as a progression over time. You can do that by having staged blood tests, calculating the APRI from each, and making a graph or chart of the results. This should give you a good idea of how fast you are progressing, as well as your fibrosis stage at any point in time.
Avatar f tn I have recently been experiencing some of the same symptoms I had before--pain and light bleeding following intercourse and cramps at all times of the month. The cramping is nowhere near as severe as it was before but I'm worried that it might get worse. Previously, the only way that my doctor knew I had endometriosis was a combination of process of elimination and then confirmatory surgery with treatment. I doubt it will be detectable now.
Avatar f tn ve started to have the same pain from the Endomitrioma (pain on my left, leg pain, ovary throbbing) and some less intense pain on my right ovary now too. Bleeding has become more frequent too. I've been on Visanne 3 months now and took a while to settle out, however, bleeding has started again, as well, the headaches have become more intense (I assume from the Visanne). Getting a little fed up and wondered if anyone had a similar experience and what you did in this situation.
1035252 tn?1427227833 The mini pill is not as effective as other forms but it's the one that is safe while BF. I would tell your OB about it and see what they say. I would assume that no it isn't effective for you.
Avatar f tn I want to go off the pill because I feel that the longer I stay on it, I might not be able to have kids later in life. And how good is it to put hormones into your body? I have been on the pill for 3 years and heard that you gain weight and have awful side effects?
20556430 tn?1500627646 Yes, they said they're trying to make my period regular. But i'm not sure if i understand the medicine you said. Is that something like ""Marvelon"? The local doctors also use that pills. My doctor give me Diane 35, may i know if this is a safe way in your country?
Avatar f tn Fibroscan is the preferred method if available. Notice, accuracy is not the issue here, but rather it is a quick way to assess cirrhosis so that treatment can be initiated.
Avatar m tn According to the multivariable analysis, APRI was the independent variable associated with the change of serum TC level after antiviral therapy. On the other hands, the viral eradication as indicated as SVR showed a marginal association with the change of TC levels.

Avatar f tn Also, oxy is more soluble and I believe it is a first pass metabolite, meaning it crosses the blood brain barrier after one pass thru the liver, where hydro is metabolized twice by the liver before becoming active. Oxy is much more powerfull than hydro per milligram and has a meaner withdrawel too.
1569985 tn?1328247482 I have taken Phythmol for yrs and all I can say Is I didn't have to start it in a hospital and it is in the same class as Flecainide but i really don't think it is as strong a drug. It helped me stay out of arrhythmia but like all the rest, it eventually becomes pro-arrhythmic and will actually bring on episodes....it may be months...it may be years...but it will happen.
Avatar f tn How about an allergy? Many years ago I felt very swollen and very much out of sorts. I wound up going to two different doctors, each of which, after examining me and finding nothing, suggested I see a psychiatrist. Of course I didn't because I knew something was physically wrong. A couple of years later I discovered I had a bad allergy to citrus. No more citrus. Swelling went away and I felt fine.
Avatar n tn I remembered it the next day, so what i did is to take the missed tablet and then take the tablet for that day. That was the instruction on their website, but because I want to make sure that I won't get pregnant because of the missed pill, I decided to take the placebo pills the following days. Thinking that i can still have my period for this month. As of now, I already consumed my third placebo pill but i still haven't got my period. Is there a chance that I am pregnant?
Avatar f tn I had the mirena put in last sept, it started off good but i have been having problems with it and hasn't decreased my pain in any sense my doc now thinks my body is rejecting, yes i've heard great success stories from it and that's why i tried it as everything else has failed.

136956 tn?1688675680 I feel so lost and confused about all of this because i dont feel that the pill is working and its still growing and the only reason i stay on it is because of the pain of having even one period is too excruciating. Avatar f tn Hello, i have been having a problem with my birth control. I was put on marvelon birth control after being on a few other kinds of birth control and ever since i had started using it, every time i would have sex the part just under the opening of my vagina (Perenium? I think) would get really swollen and made it too painful to have sex. I had googled possible symptoms and thought i had something similiar to vulvodynia or something like that.
Avatar m tn Marvelon is a birth control pill, meant to be used to prevent pregnancy. This is not only to be used while on her period, but taken everyday, for as long as you want pregnancy to be prevent. Norlevo is an emergency contraceptive pill, meant to be used ONLY if you have contraceptive failure. Not because you didn't want to be responsible about protecting yourself. It makes no difference if you ejaculate in her or not, it doesn't protect against pregnancy.
Avatar n tn m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn Anything is possible. Was it the same pill you were using or a different one? Sometimes it takes several months for your body to get used to being off the pill and your normal hormones to start working again. I would contact your GYN provider and discuss it with him/her.
975357 tn?1252704723 The thyroid problem can be addressed with the levothyroxine and the TSH is normal now -- may be worthwhile to document the reason for the hypothyroidism, which is usually Hashimoto's -- test TPO/Tg antibodies. In the future, you may need a dose increase to keep TSH in the 0.3-2.5 range. The cyclical symptoms are unusual. It is possible to have cyclical Cushings - where the 24 hour urine cortisol is normal in between spells and abnormal with spells. This may be worth pursuing.
Avatar f tn I take my pill religiously and have never missed one , ever. I take them at the same time everyday, maybe give it take an hour. I have 8 active pills (white) left to take until I start my sugar (green) pills, and last month my period started on my third green pill, and my period was normal. So, I've been having this dark brown discharge this afternoon, though this Morning it wasn't very dark. Yesterday is was mainly just when I wiped. Is this normal for birth control ?
