Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.

Hi, I was on the pill Apri for a little over a yr. Had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for endo, a polyp and a cyst. After that I wanted to try for a baby. Anyways, I stopped my birth control the same day I had my surgery and I've never had a problem. I'm not sure about everyone but that was what happened to me. Everything was fine. I had surgery on June 25th, 2010 and so it's been almost 3 weeks. I hope this helps. Good luck, take care!

Mood stabilizers vary in effectiveness on both mania and depression. Lamictal from what I believe is better on depression than mania. Depakoate is better on depression. Lamictal in high doses can enduce mania as it did in me so it had to be discontinued by my psychiatrist. However, that was over time. Generally I found it safe and effective. Tegretol is hardly used in the United States anymore due to drug interactions.

I had Mirena inserted for about 2 years. During that time I had tons of mood swings, lack of energy and problems with my skin. I was an emotional wreck and gained 20 lbs with no changes to my diet. It caused issues in my marriage with my moodiness. I finally had it removed and I've been about a year Mirena free. I have lost 15 within the past few months without even trying. It takes a while for the added hormones to leave your body. The weight I added it mostly gone.

Yep, welcome to Tamoxifen. Those are all glorious side effects. Suggestion...try changing when you take Tamoxifen (try a couple weeks in the morning, couple weeks in the evening...couple weeks midday), take it with food...and also make sure you drink plenty of water in the day. I take mine usually midday now and the hot flashes have calmed down along with the mood swings.

Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?

i don't know about the dreams, but mood swings and lack of concentration are most definitely side effects.

All this depression and self confidence issues ARE related to the side effects. Which scares me to death because I haven't had luck going down to less than the 4mg. Thank you for your response. XXXXxxxx.

I havent had that many side-effects..ive had mood swings and pregnancy symptoms (nausea, cramping, and soooo tired) but nothing that i can't live with. i think i have put weight on but mostly thats me being lazy but i do think the implant holds your weight. I dont get periods with it...just a bit bleeding every now and then....and i really cant complain. as a student nurse its helped me as if i was on placement for a 12 hour shift with period pains.....well, no thank you!

Yes I have medication side effects that are in clinical study myself that are neurological but they are researching them and understanding what they are and I am working with them. Bipolar disorder is a specific psychiatric disability. It would not be caused by medications but they could cause mood disruptions.

i take it at night also, i would rather sleep off my hot flashes then be dripping at work. i think i just respond poorly to hormones, i had a lot of side effects when i was on bc 4 years ago. don't let my experience change your views, we are all different who knows you may not have any side effects. good luck, i hope it works!

I've been on Acutane for three months, and I've been taking 40 mg doses for two months. It's working greatk and I really don't want to stop taking it. I've had a lot of mood swings lately, and I feel like I might be getting depressed. Not severely, just mild. However, I've had a lot of bad and stressful things going on in my life lately, so I can't definetey say that the Acutane is the cause of this.

There are other treatments but you will need to take peg-interferon and ribavirin and possibly have some difficult side effects during treatment? You can stop the liver damage it has been causing for decades. In my opinion you should serious think about treating your hepatitis C now while your liver damage is still reversible. Treatment was generally safe and well tolerated.

I have been on Lexapro several times over the last 4 years for 6 months to 2 years at a time. I am having problems with the sexual side effects and the weight gain. It's actually less of a "weight gain" than a shift in body composition. My pants are too tight and my shirts are more fitted but I haven't actually gained a pound. I just want a little clarification. I've had the Nexplanon implant for about...3 months now. I've done my research and read all of the side effects. OK, here's the "strange one" of the group. I have taken Vicodin for 4 years. It only makes me "grumpy" at the end of a day when I have over done my limitations and I am hurting and absolutely nothing works to ease my pain. My family knows when it's one of those evenings and they are kind enough to leave me alone and let me be a "B" all by myself. I don't even want to be around anyone. But those days are not often.

I do know that all antipsychotics can cause anti-cholinergic side effects which are typically blurred vision, dry mouth and sometimes trouble urinating so you could speak to your psychiatrist about that as one potential cause.

I'm on 50mg and it's my first cycle on them and I took mine day 2 to day six as instructed and never noticed any side effects on week one or two but from day 19 of my cycle i've noticed small changes, tiredness, breast tenderness, mood changes, sickly feelings, intollerance to certain smells and been a little light headed sometimes.

ive been on yaz for almost 3 years and in the last year i have been sick every month for five months right before my period with gastroenteritis which is vomiting for 2 hours with diarrhea and being very dizzy . i also have very bad mood swings anger irritation very easily, cry for no reason and more, not really sure what to do because my doctor hasnt really suggested i go of of it?

Can anyone tell me the side effects they felt when they did RAI? I now I will be hospitalized for 3 days and no one is allowed to see me but how will I feel with the RAI? Will I feel tired and sick? Will I be nauseated? Please if anyone can answer these questions.
