Avatar f tn Hi, I was on the pill Apri for a little over a yr. Had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for endo, a polyp and a cyst. After that I wanted to try for a baby. Anyways, I stopped my birth control the same day I had my surgery and I've never had a problem. I'm not sure about everyone but that was what happened to me. Everything was fine. I had surgery on June 25th, 2010 and so it's been almost 3 weeks. I hope this helps. Good luck, take care!
4565515 tn?1373411085 So in addition to the stomach problems of the past two weeks I've developed acne! I NEVER get acne and I don't know why I've started breaking out! I'm not stressed, I get plenty of sleep, NOTHING in my life has changed! So what's up? I take hormonal birth control it's called Apri. I switched to it two or so years ago because my other bc pills were causing acne, but it cleared right up when I started Apri.
Avatar n tn Breakthrough bleeding comes like clock work every 3 months. I have no side effects whatsoever, I love it.
730826 tn?1317943334 If you have stopped taking the birth control that was making you sick, and are not taking any other kind of birth control, then i would say there is another reason for the nausea. Side effects do not last for a month. I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor. However, if you are nauseated and are taking a different birth control, then it may be that.
1055902 tn?1286305198 t know why and does not want to make any assumption. He put me on a birth control pill called Apri to bring on a period and hopefully clear out the tissues. If Apri does not help, then he consider doing D & C. Why not do a D & C instead of taking the pills? I'm afraid, I may never get pregnant from taking the pills. Any thoughts on this? I can't stop crying!
Avatar f tn yea i agree with u on the whole guinea pig thing , but i dont think birth control is a womens chore, if i knew all the side effects &it was out longer i would deff get mine to do it lol. but i dont think most men would do it anyways just because the risk is what get some of them aroused.
Avatar n tn I am about to start nuva ring and I was wondering if anyone has had any side effects from this BC that are something to worry about? I've been off BC for about 6 months or more now because of the risks and my doctor put me on nuva ring because he said it was less side effects...I'm a smoker and I'm 24 years old. Any thoughts?
5946774 tn?1389187935 It is non hormonal, so you do not get the hormonal side effects of other IUDS, and the only side effect that I personally had was cramping the first two weeks it was in, because my body was getting used to it. Avatar n tn I am a 30-year-old healthy female that started taking effexor xr in January. The dosage was raised to 150mg 2 months ago. I really haven't had any side affects. I went off birth control about a month ago, after taking it for 12 years and now I feel like my body is going crazy. I am having fluid seeping from one breast, head-aches that linger all day, I am exhausted even though I get plenty of sleep, I feel nauseous and dizzy often, and I am very emotional.
Avatar f tn I am planning to get rid of this IUD. Please help me if any one else having this kind of issues. Any other suggations for birth control.

Avatar f tn I recently had a cyst removed about the size of a grape from my left ovary, however when we went into surgery my dr found one the size of my uterus behind my uterus attached to my right ovary. As a result due to shape n size n history my dr removed my rt ovary. I cannot go on birth control since I've had breast cancer 2 yrs before. I'm currently 37. & feel the effects of hot flashes. I'm just wondering is this to be expected? & if so what else should I expect.
Avatar f tn It is best to have a frank discussion with your gynecologist about these side effects. He/she may suggest an alternative birth control method which may be most suitable for you. A clinical examination and evaluation is extremely important for correct diagnosis and management of your condition. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. Take and keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards!
7019649 tn?1396792517 I know I have a while before I decide, but I'd like to start looking at my options now. I didn't do well with the pill. It had very negative side effects for me, so I'm thinking I want to do something that isn't hormonal. My mom got a Mirena and had to have it surgically removed because it migrated, so I'm scared to death of those things, too. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn What's a good birth control you have took before. After I have my baby I really want her to be the only one.
Avatar f tn I ended up on the neuva ring and loved it! No side effects for me and they helped control my hormones. I would of never made if through my college finals without it! I literally couldn't get angry with the neuva ring :) only downside was it was expensive. After this baby I want an IUD so I don't have to do anything and there aren't any hormones.
Avatar f tn 18, with boyfriend... Looking for a really reliable birth control pill with relatively few side effects.... Any ideas?
Avatar f tn Whats the best birth control you mommas recommend ?
1067212 tn?1353960402 I'm not anymore. I didn't like the side effects. every women is different tho so you may have a positive experience with them. It took about 6 months before i started noticing the side effects such as my moodiness so just keep an eye out. other than that, it was wonderful. It cant hurt for you to try it. And if you dont seem to like it, i would recommend going back to the pill and maybe setting an alarm on your phone.
Avatar f tn Anybody getting on birth control after their baby? What kind are you choosing?
Avatar f tn I took the birth control Apri for four years and stopped once I got married. It took me one year to get pregnant even when he ejaculated in me, but after that year I got pregnant quick as hell.
