Hi, I was on the pill Apri for a little over a yr. Had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for endo, a polyp and a cyst. After that I wanted to try for a baby. Anyways, I stopped my birth control the same day I had my surgery and I've never had a problem. I'm not sure about everyone but that was what happened to me. Everything was fine. I had surgery on June 25th, 2010 and so it's been almost 3 weeks. I hope this helps. Good luck, take care!
That can work, it stops your period also. It can cause weight gain and bone density thinning and I *think* depression but its not common the depression I dont think. If you keep a balanced diet the weight gain often isnt a problem, its more an increase in apetite.
Have you been back to your doctor about it? It would deffinately be worth going back, 7 months is a bit too long!
got way longer on it- I used to only bleed for 4 days on Aleese, then gradually this increased and due to weight gain and water retention switched to Yasmin...well after a year on that I was bleeding for 8 to 9 days (still bleeding even while taking the 'active' pills) also I started getting cramps and what not and my dr kept saying that should not be happening since you only have a withdrawal bleed...
Hey what kind of birth control are you considering after birth??? Has anyone ever been on the depo shot? How did your body react? My friend has done the depo shot two different times and each time she has gained alot of weight with it, anyone else experience weight gain? I would like to do the depo shot bc I know I cant remember to always take the pill but I already have a hard time losing weight any advice???
After pregnancy your doctors recommend you to go on birth control. But I'm going to try the IUD a few my friends told me it was good, no weight gain or hormones. No complications. I wouldn't do the shot it has a lot of hormones and makes you gain weight like crazy. At the end it's all about what you feel comfortable with.

Depo takes effect as soon as you get it. It worked great for me as far as not getting pregnant but I had horrible mood swings, acne, and my appetite was out of control. It doesn't do everyone like that but all birth control has some type of side effects!

I am done with birth control, this is my third pregnancy and after altering my body three times and having a lot of complications with birth control in the past it is my husband's turn...vacectomy is scheduled after this birth!
It really depends on you and your body. I personally have a hard time keeping up with pills, so that's outta the question. I've heard a lot of bad things about the depo shot(extreme mood swings, weight gain, etc). I don't like the idea of patches cuz I scar with bandaids if they're used long term. I'm thinking about the implanon implant it seems the best option for me.
I had it for about two years and loved it everyone always bashes it but my experience was great no pregnancy scared no period didn't gain weight I loved it and will probably get it after this pregnancy
Has anyone gotten the birth control implant on their arm ? If so did it make you gain weight or is your weight steady? Did it hurt? What side effects did you feel/having? Does your period come down at all ? Or does it stop it ? I know I can search this online but I want someone's perspective on it . If not what birth control are you ladies on ? I'm 36 weeks and want to make sure I'm deciding on a good birth control plan.
Okay so I was going to get the implant in the arm that lasts for 3 years BUT in found out that it causes a lot of weight gain and mood swings worse than other birth control. So in looking for other options. I'm not up for getting fixed and neither is my husband. I'm horrible with Taking pills and the iud insert scares the heck out of me. Please help me. Which ones do u ladies like?
