As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain.

My 16 year old daughter was awakened yesterday with severe abdominal pain on her left side and nausea. She rated it a "10" and she is usually pretty pain tolerant. She continued to report pain levels at about an "8" or "9" despite being administered pain meds through her IV at the ER. The pain was worse when she coughed or if pressure was applied to the area. However if pressure was applied then released it was more painful after the release.
but Im just weirded out by this slight pain where my appendix is. Two docs told me its not appendicitis because Id be in much more pain and it wouldnt last over a week...so what could it be? IBS usually hurts in the stomach area, not where the appendix is. Have any of you ever felt this kinda pain before? I still think something is wrong with my appendix even though I was told its not that. My roommate said it could be a hernia?
I'm having severe lower abdominal cramping it feels like stabbing I went to the ER today they took a pregnancy test it came back negative and they also did a pap test to check for STD's the doc said it takes time for the test to come back he did say I didn't have Trichomoniasis which is GOOD!!!!he also stated that he will treat me just in case the tests are positive so he gave me 2 pills and a shot in my buttocks.They gave me nothing for pain I'm still in pain..
Thanks for the feedback. I did take her to the ER twice as the pain persisted - even though all tests were negative for everything - including appendicitis. We have figured out what is going on. My daughter's body is not aligned. Her right hip is 1/2 inch higher than her left. This is causing her ligament to be stretched unnaturally, 24/7.
They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required.

I have had intermittent LRQ pain for about 3 months becoming more frequent in nature. It is intense, level 9, with rebound severe pain. It subsides after a couple of hours and there are no residual symptoms. No fever, etc. only very localized LRQ pain. It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain.
turned out to be pre-cordial catch syndrome from my back being out of place...yes a messed up back can cause chest pain,quite severe chest pain to...so is the pain in your abdomen down towards the crease on your pelvis or up a little higher...dont think its appendicitis though or kidney stones... and if your eating healthy and you feel physically fit then your not sick, its probably just a muscle problem of some sort...
If you took plan B on the last day of your period and that was 12/25 then I would say that you are having side effects of the plan B pill itself. Several other members have reported severe, painful cramps around the ovaries and lower abdomen, back cramps, and you will probably start a "period" again in a few days. That is usually a side effect also. An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis.
I slept like around midnight, and since then I have been waking up a few times with the pain still there. My right leg started hurting but the pain is not that severe, and my right lower back is also in pain. I woke up at 7 a.m this morning and the pain is still there. I do not feel like vomiting or nauseous, and neither have I lost my appetite. I have been with this pain for about 10 hours now, would I happen to be presenting signs of appendicitis?
Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated. The pain of appendicitis is severe and may be influenced by movement and certain positions.
I suggest immediate consult with your doctor.
Ive been having severe pain in my right side of my belly since yesterday, when i cough i feel like someone has pulled my insides out! Its soooo bad i cant walk properly, ive been sick, i dont feel like eating, feeling soo faint aswell (19 weeks pregnant) any ideas? Ive been told possible appendicitis but also could be a number of things! Any clue?
hi im really worried i have appendicitis, i had diarrhea for 3 days, and now after all of that my lower right and lower left sides have a dull, tenderness to them, its not severe pain but im worried it might become severe. the more i think and read abut it the more it hurts. above my belly button hurt when touched as well, i do not have a fever, and i have not been vomiting, but once in a while my stomach feels like there s a dull kick in those three areas.
By "appendix pain", do you mean pain in your lower right hand quadrant? There is such a thing as chronic appendicitis, but this is rare.
I am really in need of some help. I am in a lot of pain in my abdomen. It is extremely swollen. It started at my belly button and now the pain has spread to the right and above it. some of the skin around my navel is red. i am very nauseous and tired. it keeps getting worse every day. I went to the doctor and he did a blood test, urine test, and ct scan. my blood count was fine but the urine test came back with blood in it. the ct scan said everything was fine.

Call your mom and tell her how badly you are feeling. Severe is something to look into a lot of the time but it would normally persist if it was an appendix issue. My son has a slow bowel. He was having bowel movements but was still constipated. It caused pain and our pediatrician was unsure if it was appendicitis or not. X ray showed it was his own fecal matter blocking his appendix. My point being, it's not something you just know.
For the past few days I've had pain right above my hip but its not severe and i don't have any other symptoms but I'm very scared right now because i think i have appendicitis i don't want surgery...my mom who is a nurse said that it cannot be that because the pain i describe isn't severe and that i should lay off the coffee that i drink.
