inderal

Avatar f tn I took propafenone for a few months. I had frequent PVCs that led to cardiomyopathy and the doctor wanted to suppress the PVCs. I was taking 150mg 3x/day. I don't recall having any bothersome side effects. I had some minor gastrointestinal upset, but it settled down. I can't remember if I had "weird" dreams on propafenone, but I know it is one of the side effects. I definitely had the weird dreams on flecainide (tambacor). Overall, the propafenone worked very well for me.
Avatar n tn Based on the tremor response and/or Inderal side effects, your healthcare provider may increase or decrease the Inderal dosage. Hence, the dose you are taking is suboptimum and may not be of any benefit in your tremor.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar m tn 25mg because my heart beats go up every so often, the last time was 19th March when they went to 160bpm. The side effects are terrible I have felt really depressed, hardly any energy, sick and my eyes have been very sore. Is there a Beta Blocker without all these side effects.
Avatar n tn Since I live in Iowa (low of -24 degrees the other day), it was a side effects that really bothered me. Now I am on 240 mg of Diltiazem and no side effects but it is not controlling the rapid pulse rate very well. My husband, who has A-fib, saw a mention on one of the discussion boards he reads of Beta Blockers lowering the levels of Melatonin in some patients and causing sleep disturbances.
Avatar n tn As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.
Avatar n tn There is no best medicine for depression. It is all based upon different symptoms, chemicals, body chemistry, etc. A lot of time it is trial and error. I have been on most meds switching either because one stopped working, bad side effects or they didn't work. This with combinations of meds over time. Trial and error. But you need to insist that your doctor change your medication. I felt that way on Cymbalta and the withdrawl was almost worse than being on the drug.
Avatar n tn Hi, My doctor had tried me on Vesicare but the side effects out weight the benefits. I was given Buscopan and Detrol LA to cope with bladder problems. I had a lot of problems with pain spasms and urgency. The Buscopan and Detrol LA help but in a case where I have severe pain, I now use Morphine.
Avatar n tn s but didnt create any issues at all and eventually it doesnt do that. I have been on them for 2 years now and it doesnt cause any side effects. Plus 10mg is a very low dose so you shouldnt have any problems at all.
Avatar m tn I tried propanolal for several years, which decreased the severity of both problems. Unfortunately, the respitory side-effects from the medicine forced me to discontinue it. Any suggestions on different medications that I might try? Also any thoughts on someone somewhere specializing in myokymia? Thank you.
Avatar n tn i have been taking these capsules called inderal la for my depression and anxiety and they are not helping at all with my condition and i wanted to know if anybody else was taking the same medication and if it has helped them.
967168 tn?1477584489 cellular remodel and tolerance to beta blockers builds quickly, which is why the dose often needs to be increased for the clinical effects to stay. That might get you to a level where other side effects show through. I've heard of folks taking 300-400mg twice daily so you aren't near the high dose. The questions are good to pose to your doc too.
653875 tn?1224530613 Potential side effects of inderal: Check with your doctor right away if any of the following side effects occur: breathing difficulty and/or wheezing cold hands and feet depression shortness of breath slow heartbeat swelling of ankles, feet, and/or lower legs back pain or joint pain chest pain; confusion unusual bleeding and bruising
Avatar f tn That will affect your heart and circulation. Here is a lengthy list of potential side effects from Inderal https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/propranolol-oral-route/side-effects/drg-20071164. Being fatigued and the sleep issues may be associated with the medication and I'd talk to your doctor about that. Did the palpitations begin in the past three months when you started the medication?
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Inderal for tremors about 15 years ago with the promise that it was not addictive, and no side effects..First of all it is addictive and secondly it causes impotence.
Avatar m tn s advice and watch, with somehow going symptomatic because you know the side effect symptoms, for the side effects and warnings. If any of the warning signs come up call your doctor, otherwise tough it out. Most of us adjust to beta blocker type medications and the dizziness and fatigue side effect become milder... even go away if we're lucky.
Avatar m tn It seems to be the only thing working for my condition. But I have a question, the only side effects I experience are fatigue (at times), cold hands/feet, and sore throat. It states that I should stop taking the medication immediately if I experience these side effects. Can these really prevent me from taking this medication that seems to be the only one of its kind to me feel some what normal?
Avatar m tn My issue is, I'm extremely medicine phobic. I'm literally terrified of meds, even antibiotics, and most of the time I won't take anything prescribed to me. It took me months to start taking medicine for my acid reflux, and over a year to start taking a beta blocker for my heart. I'm in my late 20s, male, and I've had panic attacks and agoraphobia since 2000. I am tired of doctors giving me conflicting information about what I should do.
Avatar f tn Hi I have many different heart arrhythmias and I take Inderal la 60 , my heart rate is most of the time in the 50's I am having a Colonoscopy and my Dr. wants me to do Magnesium-Dulcolax prep . I feel that it would be dangerous to take it since that would probably increase my slow heart rate. What is a safe prep for people with heart condition like that?
Avatar m tn I dont have any direct experience with Inderal, but just wanted to say that if a side effect of medicine makes you miserable, its ok to talk to your doc about using a different med. Its often trial-and-error with our meds until we find one that works best. Symptom control is great, as long as the side effects dont create a new problem. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Inderal worked best for me. It has the least side effects and worked well. When I first started taking it, I was pretty sluggish, but that improved as I adjusted to the medicine. Like artskip, I reached a point where I could take it as needed. For years, I took it daily, but eventually it just wasn't as effective. Taking it as needed worked well.
