Avatar f tn Hello, Aldara is Imiquimod which is used in treatment of basal cell carcinoma having normal immune system and it is not used for squamous cell carcinoma. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn My husband was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer. How fast can squamous cell cancer infect internal organs? Someone told us that my husband might be in danger of this happening and it is freaking us out. Also what is the standard treatment for squamous cell cancer and what is the prognosis for this, if caught early? Thank you so much for your help.
Avatar f tn Things are looking great and I am so happy and thrilled about that. My question is, has anyone had basal cell carcinoma during treatment? I have a lesion on the left side of my face and I am treating it, then another one came out rather quickly near the jaw on the same side of my face, and now a tiny one on the right side.
5633011 tn?1371337268 Recently started iquimobid 5 ream for vulvar cancer (squamous cell vulvar carcinoma), waiting to find out results of recent pap, and appointments with gun to discuss further treatment options. Is it normal that every joint in my body hurts, and I am experiencing pain all over? And how do I find someone to talk to, because my husband says I am just complaining?
Avatar n tn Its use is approved for basal cell skin cancer and actinic keratosis, a precursor condition of squamous cell carcinoma of the skin. At present, the best evidence for the use of imiquimod for melanoma or lentigo maligna are only case reports. While the results of these studies are promising, only a few patients have been studied and the quality of evidence is weak. Common side effects to Aldara involve skin reactions in the area where it was applied.
Avatar f tn Hello, Actinic cheilitis can develop into squamous cell carcinoma. Since the condition is premalignant, treatment options include 5-fluorouracil, imiquimod, scalpel vermillionectomy, chemical peel, electrosurgery, and carbon dioxide laser vaporization. Please discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist to find out which one is the best for you. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
1094370 tn?1317138425 I'm 32 and have had my fair share of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma. I think the cream you are referring to is Imiquimod/Aldara? It is essentially a topical chemo. Generally if it scabs it means it's working. Unfortunately I haven't had great success with it and have had to have the cancer surgically removed. Not sure where you live, but I have fantastic Doctor recommendations in NYC. Let me know if you want more info.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your reply. The dermatologist originally did a shave biopsy on the mole for me, just because I wanted it flat. (It is on my nose.) In an odd twist, the whole area became red and swollen after the scab came off. This is the area of the original mole and the area around it. I believe some kind of scraping was involved so I thought maybe this caused it. I was told it was not an infection or scar tissue as I went back to be evaluated.
Avatar f tn cauliflower' appearance, and that if kind if what it looks like to me in the photo. One is squamous cell carcinoma but, again, assume the Vets would suspect this. What may be more of a possibility, and kind of fits the description and may be why it won't clear up is Viral Papillomas which are treated with Interferon in people and there is some new cream used in dogs called Imiquimod, if I got that right. I assume these Vets have sent out samples for laboratory testing.
Avatar f tn go to the doctor it could be squamous cell carcinomo, that is the way it starts out. i have it. it is skin cancer. no cream will help. it can be taken care of.
