Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms, it is very difficult to confirm anything without examination but it can be seborrheic keratosis or a plain HPV wart. Seborrheic keratosis is caused by benign skin growth of keratinocytes. They can vary in color from light tan to black. Excision and cautery may be needed to remove them. Please discuss these options with a dermatologist and get a biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis before opting for any treatment. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Hello, Firstly it is important to confirm the cause of these black spots whether they are due to cysts, seborrheic keratosis, angiokeratoma, wart or some benign skin growth and then the treatment can be decided. Angiokeratoma of Fordyce is a small dark red to purple raised spot which can be found on the penis and testicles and is composed of surface blood vessels (dilated capillaries).
Avatar m tn A seborrheic wart is caused by Seborrheic Keratosis, not HPV. If it helps, consider it a Seborrheic growth, and not a wart. We don't really know what causes SK, but it isn't HPV. It's something entirely different. It's not related to sexual activity, either.
Avatar n tn Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra/Seborrheic keratosis possibly. Cryotherapy, lasers help. Not serious but do consult your doc.
Avatar f tn These look like seborrheic keratosis(not serious). The green pigment may be from outside relating to applications, or copper from water, as in swimming pools.
Avatar m tn Its about the size of a navy bean, and it has a rough crusty like texture. Research leans me towards a seborrheic keratosis. I really cant afford to go see a doctor. Can you help me?
Avatar m tn Hello, It is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis without examination but it can be seborrheic keratosis. Seborrheic keratosis is a benign tumor of the skin and is not malignant. A biopsy of the skin can be done to confirm the diagnosis and differentiate it from a malignancy. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn About year ago, I went to see the dermatologist because I had a small bump on my scalp. It turned out that I had Seborrheic Keratosis. He told me that I could do surgery or freezing to remove it, but it might grow back. Well I did the freezing method and it did come back. Now I am wondering is their a home remedy to get rid of the wart on my scalp permanently? What worked for you.
Avatar n tn The pathologist has stated that it can be a seborrheic keratosis or a melanoma. Seborrheic keratosis is a benign growth and does not turn malignant. But melanoma needs to be ruled out as cellular atypia is seen. I would suggest you a repeat biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Please discuss this with your dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I went to a dermatologist and he said it was a seborrheic keratosis and froze it off because it was irritated where I had been messing with it and where my skin rubs together in the groin fold. I have a history of having those in the groin area, most recently being back in 2010. The two in 2010 were biopsied and given hpv staining. All came back good and they were diagnosed as seborrheic keratosis.
Avatar m tn Hello, For such recurrent scabs, any benign skin growth like a seborrheic keratosis or a common wart caused by HPV need to be ruled out. A senile wart also called as seborrheic keratosis is a noncancerous benign skin growth that originates in keratinocytes and are round or oval, flat or slightly elevated, light tan to black and very small to more than 2.5 centimetres in size lesions which may resemble warts. I suggest you to get it examined from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Hello, It looks like small mole, benign growth like seborrheic keratosis or a HPV wart. Seborrheic keratosis is a benign skin growth and the cause is exactly not known but sunlight and hereditary predisposition have been proposed. The treatment methods employed are cryotherapy with carbon dioxide (dry ice) or liquid nitrogen, electrodesiccation, electrodesiccation and curettage, curettage alone, shave biopsy or excision using a scalpel, or a laser or dermabrasion surgery.
Avatar n tn Could be "seborrheic keratosis" relating to age. With out photograph very difficult to opine.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be epidermoid cyst or seborrheic keratosis. An epidermoid cyst is a benign cyst, developed out of ectodermal tissue. A seborrheic keratosis is a noncancerous benign skin growth that consists of heaped up melanin. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated.Although both of them are benign conditions but they have to be differentiated from melanoma.A biopsy will be helpful in that case. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Well the results came back today, and it said that it was a Benign Keratosis, the Differential Diagnosis being a Seborrheic Keratosis or an old Verruca. The doctor said this was preliiminary and that he should get a more detailed report soon, but that shouldnt change much, just add more detail.
Avatar f tn Possibly an infected Seborrheic keratosis. Do consult your doc.

Avatar n tn I concur with Pum to have it checked out. I would try not to be overly excited until you've had it biopsied or treated. What people do not realize is that there are more anomolies to the skin than cancer (i.e. Actinic Keratosis, Seborrheic Keratosis, Lentigos, Nevi...) and until you get it looked at don't let your head rule your emotions... However, get it looked at.
