Avatar n tn The costs are not important , the most important thing is finding the best treatment Thank you in advance for your kind attention Sncerely yours
Avatar m tn I have tried freezing it several times but to no avail. I is getting bigger and is very unsightly. I have soaked it before over the counter freezing and have also used sandpaper to open up the wart before freezing. Everytime I freeze it about 1/2 the wart gets hard and can be removed. I then freeze it again. Not going away!!! Please give me a few more ways. No health insurance.

Avatar n tn They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can recur. There are several over-the-counter options. The most common ones involve salicylic acid. These products are readily available at drugstores and supermarkets.Removing a wart with salicylic acid requires a strict regimen of cleaning the area, applying the acid, and removing the dead skin with a pumice stone or emery board. It may take up to 12 weeks to remove a wart.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your response, Do you know if there is something over the counter that I can use? I would like to speed up the treatment if possible. Avatar f tn It itch, sore when wiping kind of hurt having sex. Very discomfort. Want to know what it is. Can I fix the issue to get a cream over the counter.
Avatar n tn My daughter had warts, not sexually transmitted, on her hands. Her doctor used a basic, over-the-counter, wart freezing system. It was used one time on each wart, and they eventually fell off. I am not sure if I would recommend using it on the lips though. The hands would be okay though.
Avatar m tn how do you get rid of warts, I have tried everything. all over the counter, and currently go to laser treatment. I am also trying apple cider vineager, seems like it may be working, but, the bumps I have had for 5 years because are still there. How do you get the extra skin to go away with it.
Avatar m tn What is the best way to treat molluscum contagiosum over the counter or are their any kind of ointments to get rid of it.
Avatar n tn But if you mean the genital area itself (labia, vaginal area), the most common cause of burning is yeast infection--so your doc's suggestion to try one of the over-the-counter yeast creams (Monistat or others) may be reasonable. All treatments for warts work about 60% of the time; imiquimod (Aldara) is no better (but also no worse) than other treatments. When imiquimod works, it typically takes at least several treatments over 2 weeks or more.
Avatar m tn Hi Are there any over the counter medication a person can get to help clear up male genital warts as I have been to doctor but can't afford the prescription medication at the moment? Any help will be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Aldara cream (I am half way through the course) 3. Over the counter wart freezing solutions I have tried different doctors and so embarrassed with the temporary scars they have on my face after the treatment.
Avatar m tn It's been growing somewhat quickly these past few days, so I intend to use over the counter salicylic acid on it. However, I went online, and comparing my wart to pictures on the internet, it looks like I have a filiform wart - but websites say that this wart is most commonly seen on the face. I had warts on my hand once before - flat warts, a lot of them, but they cleared up after a year or so without me having to do anything. This one looks a lot different. So... 1.
Avatar n tn Is it safe to use common over the counter wart treatments on ones penis? Im not sure if I have molluscum or what but if I can get rid of it by myself I will try. It has been nearly 4 years.
Avatar n tn You can try Imiquimod, a topical cream that helps the body's immune system fight the wart virus by encouraging interferon production. Another over-the-counter product that can aid in wart removal is silver nitrate in the form of a caustic pencil, which is also available at drug stores. This method generally takes three to six daily treatments to be effective. The instructions must be followed to minimize staining of skin and clothing. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn We tried all sorts over the counter stuff, all of which was caustic and nasty. The warts just kept coming back. After years of struggling, my aunt sent us a tube of Virgo (or maybe Vergo?) Wart Remover in the mail and said it had worked wonders on my cousin. My brother tried it on some of his worst warts and they disappeared in a matter of weeks, not just the ones he treated, but ALL of them. Soon after, I started using it as well and had the same results.
Avatar f tn It is usually not that painful and you might want to try that, if you don't want to subject your little girl to cryotherapy or imiquimod. Wart paints available over the counter, can also help. The lesions will go away on their own in most cases, but takes time. Regards Dr.
Avatar m tn It grew back and the freezing treatment no longer works. I have tried a couple years ago, over the counter drops that have shrunk the wart only to have it grow back to its normal size which is still smaller that the eraser of a pencil. Recently it seems to have had some minor shape changes which looks like it may be getting bigger (like it is clustering out further). It is not sensitive and the color has always remained flesh toned.
Avatar n tn The meds you had mentioned, can I get it over the counter? Also, Can I catch his warts on other parts of my body....like when he touches my face, arms, legs? I'm so paranoid. Thanks again!
Avatar m tn Her recommendation was to avoid shaving for at least a year, unfortunately, my work precludes this option. She said the warts could be removed with a simple over the counter freezing solution. She seemed terribly cavalier about the whole thing. What are the chances of that area of skin being discolored post-treatment? Are there any other safe viable options? The following is a link to photographs of said bumps: http://img683.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=img0841v.
1295255 tn?1273121552 I really want to get rid of them, one doctor last may told me they should go away in about 3 months but I still have them. Is there any over the counter medicine or anything I can do to get rid of them without going to the hospital or doctor because I have no health insurance right now?
Avatar m tn Are there any over the counter treatments that i could try before I go to a doctor?
556286 tn?1215557480 No one is taking this seriously, and It looks like it's just getting worse. He is exhaused from the discomfort of the rash and the Naval Hospita (he's retired military) seem to be dragging their feet in diagnosis and treatment... We NEED good advice...
Avatar n tn laser treatments, and topical therapy with either prescription medications such as imiquimod or over the counter medications such as salacetic acid (the OTC preparations are, typically, less effective than therapy performed in the doctor's office or with prescription meds. As for your GF, she may or may not have them and, since the lesions are typically painless, if she does, may not know that she has them or what they are. Other than visual inspection, there are no recommended tests for MC.
Avatar m tn I have had many cryo treatments on these lumps and even self treated with over the counter stuff. Anyway I believe they are but they are only small and tend to be flattish or slightly raised and don't take the form of what I expect warts to be like or pictures I have seen on the internet. They do turn white with vinegar. I also have an area of skin on the frenulum which looks completely normal but turns white with vinegar.
Avatar m tn I feel terrible. I did not try any over the counter therapy because they are on my neck and face. Figured I better wait until the dermatologist sees me. Any help would be so appreciated.
Avatar m tn Aldara is about 70% effective. In other words, in one third of patients, warts persist or recur. Be sure you follow the treatment advice exactly. If the warts don't clear up, or if they return again, you should discuss alternative treatments with the dermatologist. Or discuss it with him or her now, since you can't afford Aldara. There are other equally effective treatments that cost much less.
Avatar m tn These have been proven to work, however they may not work for everyone. It's important to convert to a diet of fruits and vegetables with at least 20 minutes of sun a day, while trying to heal yourself. It's also important to avoid alcohol and smoking. I tried for 4 years before any results. I tried Aldara treatments over and over again. I tried cutting them off with knife. I tried Veregen and even Aldara & Veregen at the same time.
Avatar f tn Usually I get a yeast infection after antibiotics so when I had a lot of “moisture” I tried over the counter yeast infection medication – that made my area burn. The few days after starting this medication, my anus started to hurt, itch, as well. I was getting worried at this point.
