Avatar f tn Recently (5/28) diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum and besides from cryotherapy for treatment i also received Aldara cream 5%. (the derm did not get every lump/wart with the liquid nitrogen) Questions I have about this is; How effective is it to be used? Should I apply it with a finger or would a Q-Tip be better or should it be something else? How exactly does it work?

Avatar f tn I was referred to a gynecologist who suggested trying imiquimod. I decided to try tea tree oil, before trying imiquimod. The tea tree seemed to increase the itch, so I filled the imiquimod. I've since tried one application, I should be applying again this evening, but this point I am so stressed about the whole ordeal, I am thinking I should just get them surgically removed. They are now around my vaginal area, labia up to my anus (I apologize for being graffic...
Avatar m tn It started as a single tiny pimple like bump on my penis glans. After starting treatment with imiquimod, the lesion started to disappear, but as soon as it did, three others appeared on the other side of the penis glans. And after those disappeared, another one appeared...Is it common to new lesions appear during treatment? To make matters worse, I am in an acute Herpes infection, already diagnosed.
Avatar m tn Hi guys, I've been using imiquimod to treat my genital warts for a little over a month now (applying it every other day), and I'm starting to get some lesions on the shaft of my penis. Most noticeably right under the head. It's very red and sometimes looks like an open sore if it's been chafed a bit, and sometimes looks like it's kind of scabbing over. Is this a cause for alarm? Should I put my imiquimod treatment on hold for a little while to let the lesions heal?
Avatar m tn I have had genital warts for over a year. I have been using Imiquimod cream for about 2 months now. Most or all of the warts have disappeared. Toward the end of the treatment, however, one area of my penis became very red and the middle part of the red area has started to scab (see included picture). It has been this way for about 2 weeks now. Is this redness and scabbing normal with Imiquimod use? Should I be putting some kind of antibiotic cream (neosporin, etc.) on this area?
Avatar f tn Hello, For small warts, several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation. In my opinion you should talk to a cosmetologist/dermatologist about this and get these warts evaluated.

Avatar f tn Depending on the size and location of the wart, and other factors, a doctor will offer one of several ways to treat them. * Imiquimod (Aldara) a topical immune response cream, applied to the affected area * A 20% podophyllin anti-mitotic solution, applied to the affected area and later washed off * A 0.

Avatar m tn Hello, Aldara cream or Imiquimod is used for treatment of actinic keratosis, warts and topical treatment of biopsy-confirmed, primary superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) in immunocompetent adults. It is still not confirmed whether your mole is a malignancy or a mole. I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. Confirmation can be done by excisional biopsy with narrow margins.
Avatar m tn I applied this cream for 3 times a day, and after 6 days the warts fell off naturally. I had tried Imiquimod, Aldara and some other creams for a while without seeing improvements. My girlfriend used Imiquimod and got positive results. Maybe, I was not so lucky.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with gw and have been using imiquimod cream for exactly one month. I have a few questions so if you have been through this experience please help! 1. Is it normal for warts to spread when you begin treatment? Mine haven't spread drastically but it definitely seems that it is getting worse instead of better 2. How long does it take before you start seeing results? 3. How effective has this treatment been for you guys? Were there any bad side effects?
Avatar n tn I was given Cryotherapy treatment to warts on the head of my penis in my home country and told that if that did not work I should go to a pharmacy in Vietnam to get any Topical cream (Podophyllotoxin - Condylox, Wartec, Warticon, Podofilox, and also Aldara and Imiquimod) if the warts persisted. Unfortunately I have searched through many pharmacies and clinics here in Vietnam, and also in Cambodia, and none stock any of these creams or are much help in providing similar solutions.
