aldara

Avatar m tn html?WT.ec_id=NCOMMS-20130305 Aldara is a cream used for topical treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer, and is thought to act through stimulation of anti-tumour immunity. The active ingredient, imiquimod, has been shown to stimulate toll-like receptor 7. Aldara also induces psoriasis-like lesions when applied to naive murine skin, and as such is used as a mouse model for psoriasis. Here we find that in naive murine skin, Aldara induces inflammation largely independently of toll-like receptor 7.
Avatar n tn I was given Cryotherapy treatment to warts on the head of my penis in my home country and told that if that did not work I should go to a pharmacy in Vietnam to get any Topical cream (Podophyllotoxin - Condylox, Wartec, Warticon, Podofilox, and also Aldara and Imiquimod) if the warts persisted. Unfortunately I have searched through many pharmacies and clinics here in Vietnam, and also in Cambodia, and none stock any of these creams or are much help in providing similar solutions.
Avatar m tn Hello, Aldara cream or Imiquimod is used for treatment of actinic keratosis, warts and topical treatment of biopsy-confirmed, primary superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) in immunocompetent adults. It is still not confirmed whether your mole is a malignancy or a mole. I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. Confirmation can be done by excisional biopsy with narrow margins.
Avatar n tn For warts topical treatment with several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available and effective, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts. But for benign skin growths, excision by surgery has to be done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn This remedy is mainly for small, single wart. In fact, topical cream is what people often use to remove warts. To cure stubborn warts, an OTC topical cream called Vidarox may work better. I had a small group of warts on my genital area for years. I applied this cream for 3 times a day, and after 6 days the warts fell off naturally. I had tried Imiquimod, Aldara and some other creams for a while without seeing improvements. My girlfriend used Imiquimod and got positive results.
1094370 tn?1317138425 I'm 32 and have had my fair share of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma. I think the cream you are referring to is Imiquimod/Aldara? It is essentially a topical chemo. Generally if it scabs it means it's working. Unfortunately I haven't had great success with it and have had to have the cancer surgically removed. Not sure where you live, but I have fantastic Doctor recommendations in NYC. Let me know if you want more info.
Avatar n tn Imiquimod cream 5 was prescribed for a pre cancerous skin lesion on my face. So far, only one trearment. Hope it works well without much side effect. Just wondering if I it is helpful in removing moles. There is so much cream left in the packet, so I thought I might use to remove some annoying moles. In past, would just have moles zapped off, but wondered if this topical cream would work.

But topical cream like imiquimod can treat them well u hv to apply then three time in a week alternately in the night for 6 to 8 hours n wash in the morning. Avatar f tn they told me they could freeze them off or use a topical cream that is commonly used in chemo therapeutic procedures. Her dr said with her being so young that it is up to me if i want to use the cream and I dont. I also dont want to freeze them off either cause it would hurt her and there are so many. I have looked up home remedies that i plan on trying soon. One being apple cidar vinegar and the other tea tree oil. Hopefully one will work.
