Avatar f tn Can a cortisone injection affect acid reflux or make it worse?
Avatar f tn Hi. I recently had my first B12 injection for pernicious anemia. I did not have a rash afterwards, but my symptoms got much much worse. That's how I found your post, I was searching for possible allergic reactions to the shot. Since, like you, I'm an info seeker and not a professional, I don't have any answers for you. But I do have some advice - drop that doc like a hot potato.
Avatar n tn I had an injection of Kenalog into my neck a few days ago. The doctor said there was a 2% chance that I would get indigestion. I woke up this morning with the sore mouth and wonky stomach that I'm unfortunately used to (though it's been a year). Has anyone gotten acid reflux from an epidural cortisone injection and, if so, can I expect it to last as long as the cortisone does?

Avatar n tn When zoledronic acid injection is used to treat osteoporosis, it is usually given once a year. When zoledronic acid is used to treat Paget's disease of bone, it is usually given as as a single dose, but additional doses may be given after some time has passed. Your doctor may prescribe or recommend a calcium supplement and a multivitamin containing vitamin D to take during your treatment. You should take these supplements every day as directed by your doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi there. I use methotrexate (10mg a week) and today im supposed to inject it. Only my folic acid supplements (5mg) ran out. I can't get them tomorrow because the pharmacy is closed. Is it bad to take them 48 hours after injection instead of the normal 24h?
Avatar n tn Any thoughts? Also, does one single injection really deplete the body of its folic acid stores? I have read conflicting information.
Avatar f tn While some people experience pain relief after the first injection of EUFLEXXA, most patients experience significant relief after the third (last) weekly injection. You can expect months of pain relief from EUFLEXXA, although the duration of relief will vary from person to person. I would suggest that you visit a orthopaedician to rule out contraindications or side effects to this treatment. Best.
Avatar n tn I went to doctor and he asked me to do a CBC, ESR and uric acid test. The results showed high uric acid level i.e. 8.5 whereas CBC is normal and ESR was 5 which is again normal. He prescribed me adenuric for 15 days and I got myself tested after 15 days and it was 3.5 in my next uric acid test. I left the medicine but body aches and joint pains remain same. Pain is in shoulder joint, arms muscles and back side and also in hip bone. I got myself tested for vitamin D and it was 16.
492869 tn?1285018933 I am vitamin D deficient, have on/off low potassium, low ferritin, low B12 and my folic acid levels have recently rose. Funny enough.......none of these are being treated!!!!! I had one B12 injection just before my 'crash' and was on iron and folic acid. I was diagnosed having celiac disease in may '09 so I think maybe they are seeing if a gluten free diet improves these levels now......time will tell I suppose.
Avatar f tn I have undifferentiated connective tissue disease and have taken Plaquenil and methotrexate for 10 months. I was recently bumped from 20 mg. oral to 25 mg. injections. After each injection my pain symptoms get worse about 4 hours later and gradually improve over the course of the week. The pain returns after my next dosage. Does anyone else experience this? Any thoughts/advice? Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn Methotrexate is given for different reasons, so it is important to follow the instructions of your doctor. The injection (or pill form) litterally robs your body of folic acid, which is vital for a growing baby to develop properly - especially in the beginning stages of life. It takes more than a week or so to regenerate your supply of folic acid. The longer you have been on it, the longer it takes to bounce back.

Avatar m tn Clody 200 mg(clodronic acid) Intra Muscular injection. 1 every day for 10 days. Then 1 every week for 1 month. Then 1 injection every 15 days for 3 months. 4.To use Magnotherapy machine (Biostim). 5.To use crutches for about 3 months. No weight on the left leg... Is there any other thing i should take care of? Thank you!
Avatar m tn If I do wake up unable to breathe because I have aspirated acid, what do I do? This happens very rarely, but the last time it did, it was a long time before I could breathe. (With great effort, I was sucking in a very small amount of air for many minutes.) This was terrifying and exhausting. - What do I do to recover quickly and start breathing when this happens? - Is it possible to die from lack of oxygen during such an episode? If so, how likely is that?

Avatar f tn I can relate to you with the IBS and the need for B12 and iron. I found I was not absorbing nutrients from food becuase of the IBS and so now I see my naturopath and get "Meyers Coctail" vitamin Injection monthly. The injection is a B complex including B12, and I get minerals and specific extra vitamins that I need. I think this B12 injection is a great idea for you just know that there could be other underlying causes, deficiencies etc.
Avatar f tn Vitamin B1, B6,B12,folic acid, and omega3 fatty acid are also helpful.
Avatar f tn Therefore if you are medically treating an ectopic with methotrexate you should have been instructed not to take folic acid for three months post final injection. After the three month period you can continue with your ante natal vitamins. Please be aware some breads, fruit juices and health drinks contain folic acid so always read the packaging. Best of luck with you attempt to conceive, all I can say is get a gynaecologist who is a specialist in their field and has a great bed side manner.
Avatar n tn I am symptomatic with pins and needles in my feet and a numb toe.I just received 1000mcg injection today and they told me I don't need another one until 1 month from now and then every month with checks on my levelafter 3 months.I've heard that usually they give a few shots at the beginning to start???Also, if a low b12 is the reason for my "pins and needles" would an EMG/NCS show anything?Thank you.
Avatar f tn When you have stomach surgery, could affect the stomach lining which process esB12, and folic acid related. I was lucky, it was folic acid. But, my doctor told me hemotologist prescribed folic acid, and he didn't understand why, so I called hemotologist, and he was furious, and told me to report any student at clinic that didn't check and understand, he gave me word for it, macrocystic anemia, or megaloblastic anaemia.
405614 tn?1329144114 Second week's Avonex injection went smoothly, though yesterday my legs started aching, and my right leg on the inside of my knee had sharp pains (the kind that make you say "OW!" when you don't mean to). Last week, my MS nurse said that I could have had exacerbated symptoms due to her cold that she exposed me to, but this week wasn't much better. Actually, the foot and calf cramps made it a little worse.
