hysterectomy

Avatar f tn He says he will use the mesh sling to hold up the bladder. I ask about the law suits with bladder meshes. He said this kind is different. Worried about having surgery now. I need to have urinary catheter, was wondering how long it needs to stay in?
Avatar f tn can anyone tell me if mesh was used to hold up bladder ,after comp;lete hysterectomy, 20 years ago... just wondering what they used back then...thank you...
1710955 tn?1309446473 I did have a complete hysterectomy 26 years ago. I had my gall bladder surgery about 5 years ago. Maybe this was just an awful fluke with you. Will your Dr be waiting 6 weeks post op from your hysterectomy before removing your gall bladder?
Avatar f tn I am an avid runner who will be undergoing a hysterectoy, uterine prolapse and bladder prolapse reconstruction. Will I be able to resume my running after surgery without damaging repairs to my bladder and rectum?
Avatar f tn Will a hysterectomy correct a prolapse bladder? My mother is in her 70's and constantly has to go to the restroom to urinate she also feels the bladder is fallen and complains about the discomfort she feels in it hanging.
Avatar f tn I also had endometriosis and scar tissue which was attacted to my bladder and had my ovaries attachted to my uterus. I only had a hysterectomy not a full hysterectomy. The doctor removed all the endo on my ovaries and left them. After the surgery I asked him if that was it or if I would get them back and he said that I could get the endo back in 5 years because the ovaries is what produces them.
Avatar n tn Just over two weeks ago I had a hysterectomy and bladder repair. I was unable to urinate due to swelling and was sent home after six days with instructions to self-cathetorize. Ive had differering instructions as to how often etc. At the moment, I can urinate between 50 - 150 mls on my own every couple of hours but use the catheter every four hours and the residual is between 100 - 200 mls. How much longer can I expect this to continue?
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy in 6/06. About 6 months ago my bladder prolapsed. It has become very painful and I can barely walk around anymore. Does anyone know of anything that to do to help this?
Avatar n tn I thank you for your response, I have been feeling so lousy the past few months and did not want another potential issue w/bladder infection etc. So my plan, heal from hernia and hysterectomy, and if bladder still is a problem, get it done another time, depending on whether the kidney shows signs of changing.......when it rains it pours but all I can do is hang on to my umbrella!!! Thank you and I hope all is "well" with you.
Avatar f tn I am 44 years old. I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago for fibroids. I have a history of ruptured cysts. Since the surgery I've had issues with painful sex, bladder urgency, trouble emptying bladder and bowel issues. Over the last year I started having severe bloating, nausea, and lower back pain. I started to wonder if I was having trouble with cysts again. I got an ultrasound last week and learned I have a cyst on both ovaries. One is hemorrhagic.
1670196 tn?1306841245 it was an abdominal hysterectomy. I've had my urine tested, I don't have a bladder or kidney infection and no bladder or kidney stones. I have pain and the fever won't quit. It got up to 101.6 yesterday and I am on 800 mg motrin every 8 hours.
Avatar f tn If I have a hysterectomy, seeing how I had my tubes cut and they remove my uterus will I still have monthly periods? Also, we are going on a cruise in Oct, will I be complete healed by then? Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn m seeing a third doctor to get an opinion on the hysterectomy part. I really just want the Bladder Support redone! Why is that so difficult!? I am positive it is the weight of the bladder when full that is causing leakage, because the orginal bladder sling is most likely stretched out, over the almost 20 years (like they told me it would). I would go back to the doctor that first placed it but he is now 5 hours away.
Avatar f tn I had my total hysterectomy just over a week ago. I opted for the DaVinvi (robot assisted surgery). I was up walking around the very next day after surgery. For the most part there hasn't been much pain and my incisions (4 very tiny incisions) do not hurt much at all. The only problem I've been experiencing is frequent uninating (very frequent) and now my bladder seems affected. I'm feeling some slight pain when urinating and my stomach has been so upset for a couple days now.
Avatar f tn This happens fairly commonly after hysterectomy. I would also do a urinalysis to check for a bladder infection. If you were my patient, I would definitely want you to call for an appointment! Good luck!
Avatar f tn But it definitely was the best option for me to get that hysterectomy. They discovered my bladder was folded and stuck to my uterus & they had to be surgically separated.

Avatar n tn your doctor is wrong many women have a hysterectomy with adhesions my doctor had to peeel my bladder off of scar tissue and the peel my ovary off my bowle he sound slike he dont want to do te=he surgerie ...is he a very old doctor....perhaps not up on laproscopic hysterectomies?// thats the route you want to go faster recovery less invasinve...as for scaring you by saying he may ruptre bladder thats rotten and a ruptured bladder can be repaIRED.
Avatar f tn i went to my doctor with a heavy feeling down below she examined me and said i have a prolapse im being referred to a gynocologist i had a hysterectomy 5 years ago so what sort of prolapse could it be
Avatar f tn I am 34 years old and i had a total hysterectomy 6mths. ago removing uterus and ovaries due to large fibroids. Since then i've gained a lot of weight especially in the abdomen. I am on hormone pills. Also my bladder constantly hurts, especially when it fills. Any suggestions on what may be going on and a solution to these problems.
Avatar f tn I had vaginal hysterectomy March 12. I was also to have a "sling" put in for my dropped bladder. During the surgery, my bladder was torn. The urologist felt it unsafe to do the "sling" because of the tear, so my gyn "tacked" my bladder the old fashioned way. I had to come home with a catherer for 8 days. Other than the catherer, I was feeling great after about 4 days; taking very little pain medication.
