Common Questions and Answers about Hydrocodone withdrawal stories

vicodin

Avatar n tn So after a few days, any withdrawal you feel is going to be a tramadol withdrawal and not a hydrocodone withdrawal. And yes, it will be worse, there are many more horror stories about tram than hydrocodone. I had a doctor try to take me off of hydrocodone by giving me tramadol a few years ago when I was stopping meds after a surgery, and the withdrawals were terrible.
Avatar m tn 7 years 7 to 10 hydrocodone 10s a day I have gotten down to 2 a day and have not taken any today (I'm out and can't find any... Which might be a good thing.) I have tried quitting before and did for about 6 months. I have some depression social anxiety and have a lack of motivation. Hydros have always taken care of all my problems big small physical mental doesn't matter and haven't been sick the entire 7 years. Not even a cold. I have always self medicated.
757827 tn?1299016483 While there are many web sites dealing with Hydrocodone and Oxycodone withdrawal, there is a dearth of information on Dilaudid withdrawal on the web. I would appreciate any insight on what I can expect. Am I on the downside or will more crap come may way? Thanks.
1778305 tn?1314483931 Hi! I'm 32 years old and 6 weeks pregnant. My dr has me on 5mg oxycodone 5-6 times a day for degenerative disc in my neck. I've been on this medication for 3.5 years. I know this medication shouldn't be used in late pregnancy because the risk of withdrawal is very high. I'm so worried that although my dr says this med isn't hurting my baby...it is. Any real life stories or advise would be greatly appreciated. Please don't judge me and leave unhelpful comments at the door.
1316076 tn?1274155718 Are you asking about the Waismann Method specifically or Rapid Detox? The Waismann Method includes some degree of aftercare. Rapid Detox is a medical procedure that minimizes the "unpleasantness" of physical withdrawal. Had a friend do the rapid detox method. He was discharged in only 8 days. Six months later, dead from a heroin overdose in a homeless shelter. Some of us make it only because of what it takes to quit.
Avatar f tn I just realized that I didn't answer your question -- which medication is right for you? The answer requires a knowledge of your pain condition and medical history, so let me answer in general. But before I start, remember this: the decision to enter into chronic opioid therapy (COT) is not to be taken lightly. While opioid analgesics can be effective for some chronic pain, for certain pain syndromes, it does not relieve much pain.
Avatar n tn How long and intense will withdrawal be if I stop 4-5 vicodin a day that I have taken regularly for months?
Avatar m tn First I would like to say that I hope everyone here gets what they want as far as getting off their addiction. As for me, I started taking hydrocodone about eight months ago and am up to about six pills a day at 500mg. I know that I'm addicted because I can't go through the day without it. I don't know how deep I am and I was hoping that someone would be able to fill me in. I'm really scared.
