I would stop taking it and the numbness/tingle would go away, take it again, and it would come right back. Not sure if he is taking hydrochlorothiazide. They had me on it for edema. I have swelling in my hands and ankles, all tests neg except for CMV. Battling this since April 2008. Hands so swollen, can't open bottles, hold a pen, hold a phone or peel the label off the top of yogurts..ect..
I AM TAKING HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 25MG. I HAVE BEEN TAKEN THEM FOR 3 YRS NOW. THIS MEDICATION JUST STOP WORKING. MY DOCTOR WANTS TO ADD ANOTHER MEDICATION FOR ME TO TAKE. DOES THIS EVER GET BETTER. STAYS THE SAME OR DO THE MEDICATION YOU ARE TAKE ALWAYS GET ADJUSTED. UNTIL YOU ARE TAKEN 10 DIFFERENT MEDICATION.

[t find anything wrong, yet I still have very strong Head Rush and Pain in back and left arm rush. I was dehydrated. I stopped the hydrochlorothiazide and am stopping the Atenolol by reducing the dose by 1/2 for 7 days to 12-1/2 mg, then reducing to 6-1/4 mg for another 7 days, then stopping it altogether.
I plan on using the elliptical to exercise on, which has lowered my blood pressure in the past; but now I don't know what effects Atenolol
has had on my heart long term.
Hello everyone. I am new to this group. I am a 44 year old female. Never had high BP before. It was always around 120/80 except during pregnancy. For whatever the reason it would elevate then. About a year ago during a routine GYN exam, my doctor told me that when I came in and the nurse took my BP that it was very high. 175/115. He asked me if I had previously had any BP problems before and I said not that I know of. So he was nervous for me and wanted me to go to the hospital.
My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic.
I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
I have been taking Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide (HTCZ) for high blood pressure since May 2007.
Recently I have a feeling that the Hydrochlorothiazide is not working as it used to be.
Will HCTZ lose its effectiveness after a certain number of years?
Anyone know the answer or having similar experience, please let me know.

Icing the spots and liquid antihystamines offer only temporary relief. Along with the hives, random fingers have been getting stiff and are difficult to bend. The pain goes away in one day, but the pain seems to jump to other fingers.
I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension?

I am taking HCTZ for about 16 days but after 12 days it is causing me chest pain off and on. It starts after 2 hours of taking the tablet and prolongs for another six hours. Can somebody help me on this. My doctor says it doesn't happen with HCTZ. Thanks.
t want to put her on hydrochlorothiazide(diuretic) is that it would decrease urine calcium but increase blood calcium. The pediatric nephrologist she had when she was younger had her on the hydrochlorothiazide. This is all very complex! So probably a good idea to see all the different specialists first before deciding on a coarse of action.
I am so confused because I have too many issues that can cause the same symptoms. Recently, my doctor switched me from Valsartan HCTZ to Hydrochlorothiazide plus regular Valsartan for my blood pressure. When I first started it, right away I was having rapid heart beat and shortness of breath so he told me take potassium supplements. That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium.
However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.

I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.
Diagnosed recently with high blood pressure. New med Hydrochlorothiazide for 2 weeks. Now my upper gum & roof of mouth are red, swollen, and painful. This is not a listed side affect. What's wrong?
ve had very dark green stools for the past three days and I am a little bit constipated. I do not have any abdominal or pelvic pain. There is no blood in my stool. The only changes that I have made on the past 3 days is that I have been watching what I eat and also the amount. I take Methyldopa, Hydrochlorothiazide, levonthroid, pre-natal vitamins, lupron injections, and Estrace pills.
m trying to get pregnant and after a week and a half I had elevated liver enzymes and fever so I went off that drug. I have now been on Hydrochlorothiazide for about a week and it is controlling my bp very well. However, I have noticed that my resting pulse has been steadily getting higher since I have been testing my bp at home with a monitor cuff. Going back through all my readings I am usually around 75-85 bpm but since I got on the diuretic I am never lower than 90 and frequently 100-106.
I don't know -- I got back on my meds (lisinopril and amlodipine) because my nurse practitioner is insistent. But I don't like amlodipine because it swells up my legs and ankles. But at least my pressure is down a few points, still high, but I hate meds. However, I'm working on taking it every day. I have a label on the bottle that I write down the day I take it with a check mark next to it because -- I can take the pill out of the bottle and forget if I took it.
