So congestive heart failure has definitely been ruled out? Have you ever been tested for pure autonomic failure? You might check ndrf website, an or that talks about dysautonomia. Did you also get your catecholamines tested when you were in the midst of one of these episodes? Also, did they do a plasma free metanephrine blood test on you? If you had a pheochromocytoma, it can emit catecholamines intermittantly and have quiet periods where your catecholamines would be normal.

I have had an heart failure due to high chotesterol so I am on medication for Hipertension/ High Cholesterol. I recent weeks after I start using Co-Diovan 160/12.5 mg in place of Hyzar I am experiencing a gradual tightening in the upper chest toward the neck/throat and it is as if i may stop breathing? I am not sure if the change in medication has anything to do with it! I use to to exercise for about 30 min. or more each day, I can do only 2-3 mins. and with great difficulty?

I've been on Keppra for over 3 yrs now, other than gain weight as soon as I was put on the drug, I've had numerous UTI's and kidney infec. as well as Kidney stones, I reduced my dosage by half (1000mg/day down to 500mg/day) over a period of 4 months last yr, still szr free, and blood levels come back with in therapeutic range (something my Neuro can't quite explain yet isn't making me go back up to the 1000mg/day). You mentioned edema- did they check your kidney function of your remaining kidney? Did they check to make sure you are not suffering from congestive heart failure (can cause edema)? I see you are on a non-potassium sparing diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide). Are they regularly checking your potassium to be sure it has not gone too low? Did they make sure your thyroid was not hypofunctioning (source of weight gain)?

Like I said, I know it didn't come on over night, but once it got bad, the symptoms came on hard and fast. I was getting up everyday scared at what the deal would hold. Renal anomalies could be responsible for decreased or deranged renal function and may lead to renal failure. One working kidney is enough for normal functions of the body. My 6 year 10 month Russian Blue male cat was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with kidney failure. His only symptons were a bout of vomiting and lethargy. Also as he has heart failure and the point of his meds is to get rid of fluid but if he has kidney failure he needs lots of fluid ie the vets flushing his kidneys, can this be done on him with his heart problem? I have read a few things about kidney failure saying give low protein but others say give high quality protein so whats best please? Also have read give low phosphorus and give TUMS to him but is this ok? how do i know how much to give a tiny yorkie?
