If you test positive you'll be hooked hooked up to an iv to administer the antibiotic. I was told you could move around with the iv. Thank God my text was negative (1 of 3 women test positive) because even though my birthing center doesn't offer water birth they encourage you getting in the tub for pain relief or getting in the shower. its not bad and its very simple to avoid it hurting the baby. Yes u do have to have antibiotics through IV when u deliver but thats all and baby is fine. I had group b strep with my first. Its just a bacteria that develops during some pregnancys.

What if my water breaks before the scheduled date? And most antibiotics take 24 hours to clear up bacteria, so how is it going to help AT the surgical birth? (Usually babies become infected through the birth canal, but hopefully mine won't even be coming out that way!
