How long do bladder infection symptoms last

Common Questions and Answers about How long do bladder infection symptoms last

Avatar n tn I was on antibiotics for a week for a bladder infection and i finished my last pill yesterday. While i was taking the pill my symptoms went away and everything was fine. Then i started itching after i urinated which i thought was due to a very mild yeast infection. So i took Diflucan yesterday as well. Then yesterday i noticed a slight ache/pain after i urinated similar to the one i had previously but not as bad. Does that mean that it is coming back?
Avatar f tn I have a bladder infection, I think. So I called my Dr and told him what was going on. He prescribed Septra generic DS. It made me so sick that I called him back and asked what to do and he said it would be alright to take a half pill twice a day instead of a whole one. This is the second time I've had a bladder infection in two months. The first time was when I was in the hospital. No catheter was used. They sent me home with a script for Septra and it cleared up with in 5 days.
Avatar n tn how long do these withdrawals last if I'm on day 14 and was throwing up today and still feel all those symptons they say happens to you? i stopped cold turkey and i just want to know when all the pain will go away.
Avatar m tn I have tingling little prick pains all through my body and have also suffered mild headaches and some queezy stomach.I have had these for 1-1/2 weeks now. How long do these last before the outbreak? I have never had an outbreak before but I'm thinking my time is coming. I have had risky sex with 4 women in the last 6 months .... condom for intercourse but none for oral giving or receiving. I do have anitbodies for both hsv types (one test 2 weeks ago) I am on Aclyovir for a couple more days.
Avatar f tn I had a 105 degree temp, chills, sweats, when I got up at 4 in the morning to pee, I thought I peed myself but there was blood all down my leg and when I looked there was about 1/2 cup on the floor from my bladder... then the horrible bladder spasms started and the worst infection. I was delirious I guess... I knew what I was saying but my husband and daughter couldn't understand a word I was saying.
Avatar n tn I'm 30 years of age and was just to the doctor (MD Internal Medicine) with symptoms of a bladder infection (painful urination, frequent urges, chills) which I'm familiar with, only this time I had some spotting and very bad lower back pains, and a possible fever the one day, but none since...thus the reason I went to the doctor. Like an idiot I took 2 tylenol before going to the doctor, so I was feeling better while I was there.
1318483 tn?1318350782 Ok, cranberry pills (not ANOTHER pill!). How many ml do I take and do I take them always or just until this is over? Do they mess with the bowel functions at all? My grandbaby better not disappear! I haven't even met him yet! I missed his birth. :/ Pictures just aren't the same, you know? Though I have received some very touching keepers of my son with his boy...beautiful. :) I will call my doc and let them know what is or is not going on with me.
Avatar f tn Doc at the clinic casually mentioned that since it's not resolving maybe it's not a bladder infection but something to do with surgery? He said could have a build up of fluid that is giving symptoms of infection? Spoke to surgeon(cause he scared me) and she says not likely as surgery was straight forward and not near bladder...anyway really frustrated at this recovery and don't know what else to do.Am on second 3rd set of anti-biotic's since dec4.Anyone have this happen???
Avatar f tn Was the cystoscopy the only way to detect the bladder infection? Could this infection be the cause of my night sweats? Like I said I have learned to live with it. I drink no more than 40 oz of liquid a day, and I stay away from water. Water makes my bathroom visits increase by 10 fold. I do not drink my liquids fast either, that will also increase my urges. Will the infection ever go away? I do not have any pain, i just go too much.
996658 tn?1249678769 I have been on Dilaudid for 30 days IV and orally. It was a horrible experience. By the second week it was becoming an addiction. I had stopped eating and pretty much I had disconnected from the world for 30 days…just wanting my dose and nothing else. 3 days before I was discharged I decided that I wanted to stop the drug. I am home now and it has been 10 days and I still can sleep at night. I wake up every 2-3hr shaking and all sweaty. During the day it’s much better. But nights are horrible.
Avatar n tn Hi again! Your symptoms really do sound like your gallbladder. Believe it or not, I was misdiagnosed at first. I went to my regular doctor. I go to a team of docs here at the Cleveland Clinic, so which ever one is available will see me. It figures that I had to see a brand new young doctor. Even though my symptoms were classic GB, he told me I had gastritis, and it can last for a few weeks. He did order an ultrasound, though.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with long term antibiotic treatments? How long does typical treatment for chronic UTIs last? I am worried about taking antibiotics for more than a year.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms of urinary frequency and urgency highly suggests an infection. A urine test will confirm this and treatment is usually with antibiotics. Drinking plenty of water may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn the doctor said they needed to do a urine test, it could be a bladder infection but they would also test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. she said since i am in a monogamous relationship it's probably not an std. i don't think i've had these symptoms before but they're mild so i'm worried that i may have overlooked them. just wondering if symptoms of these two stds can come and go? can the symptoms appear years after being infected?
Avatar m tn This has helped, but the problems have not completely gone away. I suspect that this may be a kidney or bladder infection. The other possibility is that I have chlamydia from what I have read online. I have had a few partners since I last got tested, so it is possible that one of them passed something along. I should mention I experienced similar symptoms back around October. I went to see my doctor and there was no sign of bacteria in my urine.
Avatar n tn Thank you to all who responded. I am okay with this. I was at the doctor for a kidney bladder infection the day after the news broke and after having all the infections and other problems cropping up with no diagnosis to date, then having been an endoscopic center patient, the doctor thought I should be tested for HEP C.
Avatar m tn easy to Rx but now can't do the RX. I was at a 2 inflammation and a 3-4 fibrosis on my liver biopsy last year. Have no idea right now where I'm at. One thing about Hep C in my opnion is that it is it is the expect the unexpected disease. Since it is outdoing HIV 4 to 1 and still not that much know to the general public the next 10 years will be interesting.
Avatar n tn I feel better with the itching again, but at night, I think I touch the area, so when I wake up in the morning it's red again. I feel like these treatments aren't working. How long do I have to wait for the treatments to work. Am I just expecting it to cure the yeast infection too soon? Is this something that takes time to heal? It's just really irritating. It's been almost 2 months and I would like it to go away. Can anyone give me some insights?
Avatar f tn she also developed reflux they said that her bladder is holding more cc than an you think it will be removed.
429700 tn?1308011423 This makes the third of fourth this year that I've had a bladder infection, errrrgggggghhhhh (you don't hear perturbed in my voice, do you?).
999891 tn?1407279676 Hi.I was in hospital in 2008 for investigations after getting a drop attack, this was before I got my CM & SM diagnoses. At the time Nurses who were routinely monitoring my fluid intake and urine output noted that I had an overactive bladder, I would get the urge to go to the bathroom but during my visit I would only pass a small amount, consequently I would need to go again soon after. I thought this was normal and so never really paid much notice.
470162 tn?1285755313 I am almost 100% sure that I don't have a bladder infection as I had a urine sample taken a few days prior to this and it came back clear.
12832842 tn?1448732401 Of course some symptoms during relapse do go away permanently--I just haven't heard of bladder stuff in this category. A uro-gynecologist is your best bet for detailed info, and if you ask your neuro you're likely to be referred there anyway.
Avatar n tn It could be a bladder infection, but I'm learning as well that there are so many different causes of all these same symptoms. I have all those symptoms and more, and have microscopic blood in urine, but no bacteria, so it's not an infection, but could be many different things, just make sure you do get in w/a doctor, maybe even try a reg. physician first to get in sooner and rule out infection or get meds for it!
Avatar f tn Grace thank you for responding. I don't have the HPV vaccine as I was over she when it was developed and had already had HPV (unknown source as I was not sexually active @15). My only sexual encounter with my EX since January was at the beginning of November (he was out of the state until then). He was clean in January when we had our "yearly testing". So chances are he got this between Jan and Nov so I wouldn't have had any past exposure from him.
Avatar n tn I went to the emergency but dey didn't really tell me anything dat was wrong with me besides having bladder infection! I'm really bleeding a lot for a very long time! Please help me with any info!!!
Avatar m tn He's also extremely hungry and thirsty. I've read that all of these are possible phenobarbital side effects. How long do these usually last before the dog gets used to the medication? I'm hoping that these are not signs that something else is wrong, though I am aware of the possibilities.
Avatar f tn migraines be a symptom? does TM add symptoms as time goes on? what can I do about my bladder?) And ask him want you want. (relief from pain, MRI, his thoughts on what is going on with you, a referral, medication suggestions, whatever is of concern to you.) It is good to put info of your symptoms and timeline into the hands of your neuro. Ask direct questions once he's done his stuff.
Avatar n tn Please read the following post to see how many other symptoms fit, often when women have a cystocele (bladder), there are other types of POP doing on as well-there are 5 types. It would be a good idea to seek consult with a urogynecologist rather than a urologist, they treat all 5 types of POP. Here's the link to POP basics article- http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn Fast forward 3 weeks, and I still have horrible pain when my bladder is full, as well as when I urinate. It's not an infection (it's been checked), as I'm currently on heavy antibiotics (at home on IV) for a post-op infection. Since clearing up the infection has taken center stage, I've just assumed the bladder pain was due to the adhesions being cut away. Is this a good/bad assumption? Basically, I don't know how long pain from the surgery should last.
