how fast does solumedrol work

I know steroids can make you susceptible to infections, but has anyone developed a UTI on solumedrol? I had the unmistakable first inklings of one a bit ago. I rushed out for cranberry juice and a blueberry smoothie (blueberries are supposed to have the same effect as cranberries, and it's a good excuse for a fruit smoothie!!) and I'm hoping I can keep it at bay this way, but I guess I'll know in a few hours. These things tend to come on fast for me.

I think that's how they're supposed to work, but I feel lousy for a day or two afterward, and my sx actually seem worse. Then they gradually get better. I'm trying to figure out whether the 1 day/month is worth it. Does this happen to anyone else?

This concern has been posted awhile back, but wanted to reintroduce it. I had a solumedrol treatment about 4 weeks ago. About 2 weeks later i got chills and my hands started to itch uncontrollably followed later by hives in random places (no pattern to where they were) but mainly arms, stomach, and scalp. Called my neurologist, heard back from his nurse who said there was no way it was related to solumedrol.

Hi Everyone I start on my IV treatment for 5 days this Thursday, with 500mg of Solumedrol, I am worried about it, can anyone tell me what side affects i may experience, and how to prepare for it, and can i go to work right after the Treatment, thanks Tyler

I am scheduled Monday to do an IV for three days of Solumedrol. Has anyone else done that and if so, what is your opinion. I am alittle nervous about it.

I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work? I thought it was just some kind of medicine they gave you through an IV but a friend said something about them sticking a needle up there. Im a little freaked out, could someone please explain it to me?

This is a good drug, but very hard on someone that is prone to high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Her first treatment with Solumedrol, did not seem to work for her, as well as it did for me. My Optic Neuritis (abbreviated- O.N.) was totally gone in 2 weeks. She said her one eye never really went back to normal. Now the other eye starts. Since the beginning of her attack, she has not been in remission yet. This is a long first attack. I pray for a remission.

t look like blisters anymore 9 days since I last took the valocyvir. Does this med work that fast and once there is formation of blisters will they always pop or can the medicine prevent this even though I only took it for 2 days?.

My regular opthamologist confirmed what I thought was going on a week later, we both were in contact with my neurologist the next day, and I was started on SoluMedrol on Feb 25. You guys can probably guess the course of steroids, but it was three days of IV SoluMedrol, followed by a 14-day tapering off with oral prednisone, of which I'm still taking. My question is, when will my normal (or near normal) vision return?

Sheesh, this is 2nd exacerbation within 6 months...more solumedrol in 2 weeks.

Finally done with the solumedrol, I took the other two infusions in the hospital and even though my heart got a little fast (117 at the worst) I was otherwise okay.Unfortunately, the hug is still there, and my symptoms overall feel the same. I'm VERY hungry today, and I woke up in a very cheery and happy mood.(It didn't help my hug or anything else but lifted my depression, what the hell?) The nurses managed to bend my IV line, and I got stuck in three different places.
