How did you mamas feel right before labor? I've been having around two contractions an hour but my water is still intact, I am not dialated, and he hasn't dropped.I had my dialation checked two nights ago so that might've changed.

You'll usually have other signs of labor if it's real active labor, like losing globs of mucus plugs, hard contractions, or sharp stabbing pains in your cervix (that's how I knew I was dilating, with every contraction I got a sharp stabbing pain in my vagina and it was my cervix dilating), they probably sent you home because you can be dilated for quite a while without being in labor, some women dilate up to a 3-4 and stay that way for a while before labor.

If u are having contractions, time them.depending how far away u live from hospital.if its an hour away and contractions are every 8mins or so i wud go. Dont leave it longer than that.perhaps ring ur hospital labour dept just to be on the safe side! Best of look.

I started out dialated to a 1 for a while, had tons of contractions, thought it would progress more, and nothing. Then I was in the hospital 3 times last week for labor where I thought it was starting. Painful contractions for hours at a time, and only dialating to 2-3. They gave me morphine for the pain, and then everything stopped. I'm still having contractions but things just aren't progressing. I'm getting discouraged, and I'm so ready for this baby!

That being said, my friend had real contractions off and on for about a week before she went to the hospital. The only reason she did was because she went to her prenatal appointment and they told her she was already 5cm. She had no idea. It's different for everyone. If your water breaks or they get super painful, definitely go in.

t forget to time them! When you show up at the hospital they will probably want to know how far apart the contractions are and it's best not to go until they are 5 minutes apart and lasting 45sec- 1min. Good luck momma!

Just got back from the hospital and I am having contractions but far apart and not too severe my doctor wants me to try to induce myself at home before she induces me because she said its better if I do it than her because it can end up in a c section . Can someone give me ideas on what to do to induce myself and soften my cervix ?
