Common Questions and Answers about How far apart are contractions at first

contractions

Avatar f tn m 38 +2 and have absolutely no sign of labor apart from extreme fatigue! No contractions at all. Belly does get tense sometimes but I'm not even sure if that's BH? I was 1cm dilated last week I'm going back tomorrow to check, hoping to get some improvement. So ready, I'm so impatient!!!
1255151 tn?1413891826 I am only 34 weeks, but I went into labor at 29 weeks and my cervix was very soft at that time. I have been having contractions 2-3 minutes apart on a daily basis since then, but nothing has changed. It's still early, but at the same time I feel like I've been sitting around waiting for something to happen for a really long time. I keep getting the shooting pains down there and cramping during contractions, but it's not doing anything.
Avatar f tn When I had my first son....the way I was taught to count them was....how long they last and count how far apart they are until the next contractions....and most likely if they are lasting longer and the contractions are close together then you will probably be in labor.
Avatar f tn Im trying to hold off on going in until my appointment thursday afternoon! Hoping that i will be more than 2-3 cm dilated and 60% effaced (thats where i was last week). Im bouncing on my exercise ball today :) had plans on mopping on my hands and knees today but after spending those 2 hours cleaning on one freaking room earlier im just ready for a nap!
Avatar f tn t that bad but now they are only getting stronger...
Avatar f tn I find the first six months with a baby are always hard, no matter how far apart they are. But they'll be playing together before you know it, and then you'll be glad they're so close together. My first two are 19 months apart, so not quite as close, but still had a lot of people telling me I was going to be busy.
Avatar f tn I was told with a first pregnancy 3-5 min apart lasting about 30 sec to a min long. For none ftm 5-7 min apart. I would track them to be that time apart consistently for at least an hour before going in. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn They checked last night but not before discharging me. And its hard to tell cause the back pain is masking it.
Avatar f tn How long have u been feeling these contractions and for how long do they last at a time? U need to time the duration of each contraction and how far apart they r for at least an hour, then ull know whether u should go to the hospital or not. last thing u want is to be sent home.. that was my worst fear when I had my first baby, thankfully they kept me as I was already 5cm dilated by the time arrived at the hospital..
Avatar f tn We came in when my contractions were 20 mins apart (because we live so far from our hospital) and by the time we got here they went from 20 mins apart to 4 mins apart. But im not dilating past 2cm so now they have me walking for a few hours to see if it helps. If it doesn't they'll send me home. Im terrified going home with my contractions this close together.
Avatar f tn I meant when they are less than 18 months apart
Avatar f tn m 31 weeks along and my contractions (real or not who knows) are an hour and a half apart, mostly irritating more than anything. My question is have any mom's had the hour and a half ones turn into hour, then continue on down to full blown labor? Doctor said it was a huge possibility but didn't think baby would make an early arrival which was my number one concern. Luckily I'm not on bed rest, yet...
5371784 tn?1370824532 For me its taking deep breaths, staying calm, its better not to think about it, try occupying your time, and not tense up when one starts.
Avatar f tn I felt contractions at 4am and they were like 6 mins apart and consistent i ended up calling my dr at like 11am and went in at 12pm and she said I wasn't dilated barely 2cm... and at 4pm I couldn't bare the pain anymore I got ready and went to the hospital. I got there at like 450 and I was 9cm... my son was born 618.. my water broke like 40 mins after I got admitted.. good thing I went when I did.
Avatar f tn I just called the hospital They told me to wait until the contractions are less than five minutes apart and associated with pain or my water breaks to go in
Avatar f tn How far apart did you wait to go in to hospital for contractions. Its my 3rd havent timed them yet but much more pressure..
Avatar f tn I had that a couple days ago. I'm 34 weeks. I was sent to the labor and delivery department by my ob to be monitored. It turned out my contractions were irritable uterus. They don't feel like Braxton Hicks, but I assume labor contractions will be a lot worse.
Avatar f tn it feels like period cramps just worst lol and it hurts more if you have back pain labor (i had it) . make sure you put attention on how long and how far apart your contractions are, its often confuse with false labor. hopfully you dont have back labor!
Avatar f tn 45 days to go.. Ready to have my prince in my arms.. This is baby #4.. Feeling pains right there and then but I'm doing great how about you all how many weeks and how are you all feeling?
