Avatar m tn (My doctor told me it was normal but it seams low to me) 2) Could my testosterone levels increased do to weight loss? If so does anybody know how much testosterone can fluxuate from weight loss?
Avatar n tn Post your FT3 and FT4 levels. If you can't lose the weight, maybe you'd benefit from your levels in the upper 1/3 of the range, not just 'in range' as so many clueless endos are apt to leave you. The reason many of us don't lose weight is because many endos still don't test/treat FT3 levels.
Avatar f tn A couple of members here, including myself, watched Robin McGraw yesterday speak about bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Did you know that women as young as their teens can have hormonal imbalances ? And that you can show signs of perimenopause in your 20s... feel horrible and be misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia ? And yet the medical field has failed us again on this other issue.
Avatar n tn Is there any help for weight loss women that has a hysterectomy i exercise and eat right taken all kind of diet pills.
Avatar m tn Your testosterone is apparently in the normal range. How do you know that this is low for your age? Also, losing weight only benefits can bring to you if you have it in excess. So, you mean here that you have 100 pounds more than normal for your age and height? That sounds to be a lot, especially combined with a sedentary job. Regardless of testosterone considerations, losing weight is a no-brainer in your case.
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
605458 tn?1539228808 I mean, the goal is always to avoid surgery when surgery can be avoided, but if I cannot get this hormone shot therapy, hysterectomy with salpingo oopherectomy is my other alternative. I am 39. I have never had children and have never wanted to have children and have no desire to have children in the future. While I am a bit attached to my body parts and thing surgery would by not fun, why not just go for it and get done with and not have to worry about the stupid endometriosis again?
Avatar m tn Would any of these diseases contribute to sudden weight loss? I have been close/over 350 lbs for years, but in the last several months I have dropped a significant amount of weight. I'm down to 287. (20 lbs in the last four weeks alone.) I wish I could say it's because I'm exercising or eating right... but I'm not. I've made no change to physical activity or diet. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn In order to lose weight, you have to subtract calories. Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week, so in order to lose 1 lb/week, you'd have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb). OR you can drop 250 calories from your diet and increase .....
Avatar m tn I am under HRT(Hormone Replacement Therapy) and Thyroxine,Cortisole,Calcium are what I take daily medicines.Testosterone(Sustenone 250 every 3 weeks injection) is recommended; But I am not taking it due to the difficulty I felt while breathing(when body stiffens). My Weight after the surgery remains more or less 110kgs(presently 112kgs).I am 5ft9inch in height and Due to the overweight I cannot run or do smaller exercises even as I have asthma like breathing problem after becoming Obese.
Avatar f tn I am 74 years old and have been on Hormone Therapy for 24 years. My new doctor had advised me that she will not continue my prescription because she in uncomfortable to prescribe to a woman over 65 years of age. I think that is my decision to make.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed at age 49 in May, 2007 with Stage II, 3 nodes positive. I had 4 rounds of A/C and 4 rounds of Taxol followed by 33 rounds of radiation. My doctor now wants to put me on hormone therapy. I am premenopausal but haven't gotten my period since July due to chemo. She won't put me on Tamoxifin because of a past history of TIA several years ago. She said I would be at too high a risk for stroke on it.
Avatar f tn I have been told from the start that with a lumpectomy I would need radiation. I found out later about the hormone therapy. I want to know if this is standard of care for my situation. I had a 1cm lump including DCIS and ILC. My margins were 6mm, 1cm, 5cm, 6cm. The ILC was in a linear pattern and low nuclear grade. 4 of 4 nodes were negative for cancer. I am ER+ 100% and PR+ 90%. I am HER2 negative. I was told my cancer was caught very early and I should be OK.
Avatar m tn Hi sorry hormone therapy will not help at all , there are no pills or cream to make your penis any bigger , take care ,
Avatar n tn hi, working out an hour/day is great, no need to cut your food intake down because you are already working out, you need only to drink more water (especially warm) it will melt your extra fat off and and you will get your desired weight, if you still wanna try something, you must go for beyond weight management tea,a very good thing for weight management.
Avatar f tn t have hypothyroidism. You might also want to get tested for insulin resistance and PCOS, which also make weight loss very difficult to impossible.
Avatar n tn I have been fine with the exception of some repercussions with my intestines. I have had a weight loss in the last year and a half, and recently, after much testing to make sure there was nothing else wrong, was put on megace. I went on line to look into megace and there was some mention of progesterone. I have only taken the 1tsp. dose for two days now. I was planning to call my gyn. dr. tomorrow regarding this matter. Do I have reason to not take megace? Is there progesterone in it?
846905 tn?1258817444 For therapy of PCOS, Metformin is the gold standard. That therapy alone may be enough to help you ovulate (some people also lose weight). Or you may need something like Clomid or Femara in addition to help. If you don't ovulate monthly, you won't have a regular cycle, and it takes a long time to get pregnant. Oral contraceptives in combination with Spironolactone and Vaniqa can be useful for excess hair growth and acne. But of course don't help you ovulate.
