20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.
1134902 tn?1296066144 sept to oct cycle was 26 days, oct to nov cycle was 25 days and the I spotted after every workout and some mornings for the week ovulation was possible to occur. My November to december cycle then lasted 32 days.
1101132 tn?1263780302 The faint 2nd line on the OPKs means it is detecting a small amount of hormone because most women always have a low level of LH hormone in their system and it just surges to a much higher level before ovulation.
1453325 tn?1308386996 can you ovulate with the pregnancy hormone from a previous pregnancy still in your body ie after a misscarriage or not or do you have to go back down to pre-pregnancy levels before your body ovulates again?
Avatar m tn No, the ovulation test kit detects the hormone that stimulates ovulation (Luteinizing hormone). You need a pregnancy test to detect the presence of hcg (the pregnancy hormone).
574574 tn?1217379626 Generally, to show ovulation what they look for is a level over 5 will confirm some sort of ovulation on a natural, NON medicated cycle (no clomid, injections or anything like that), but most like to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle and over 15 on a medicated one. I'm not sure about your e2 level, and LH is usually run on CD3 with FSH to check those levels.
Avatar f tn This is a hormone that comes from the pituitary gland in the base of the skull, and surges to very high levels starting 36h before ovulation. This hormone triggers final egg maturation and ovulation. When it turns positive, for sure you want to have intercourse the day it first turns positive and the day after. Sorry for the delayed response - how did things work out?
1402796 tn?1282210284 Hi....I learned that once your breast becomes tender than you have achieved ovulation but I am anot sure....if your cycles are 28th day long than you should be fertile from 10-16 good luck and God bless... I am so sorry about your chemical pregnanncy!
Avatar f tn Progesterone, which is the driving hormone after ovulation, causes a slow-down in the digestive system. Taking progesterone can also cause an increase in constipation and abnormal bowel movements (been there, done that, but not IBS). Have you also thought about having yourself checked for endometriosis which can have an impact on bowel symptoms? That was my first indication of an endo problem, severe pain and constipation around my period.
594189 tn?1386916607 Yes, LH (luteanizing hormone) will peak right before ovulation and trigger the release of the egg. That's the hormone measured by using OPKs (ovulation predictor kits). Before the LH surge, estrogen will be the prominent hormone (as the follicle grows), and after ovulation, progesterone will peak (to sustain a possible pregnancy).
Avatar f tn So it goes works overtime to make sure that you are producing that hormone which helps in the process of developing the egg and triggering ovulation. You probably just didn't respond to it. I would try to get my dose upped before you have to spend extra money on something you may not need.
Avatar f tn Anytime you have sex especially unprotected sex you have get pregnant. Also with having the hormone that causes ovulation in your system at the time. It's a waiting game now.

Avatar n tn It could have been false positives because of hormone spikes close to ovulation that's happened a few times to my sister. Or if you haven't had another period I'm hearing from many people that it's possible to have another period after conception, even multiple. I would ask to have a blood test done at the Doctor.
Avatar f tn For example, ovulation induction may be used by women who are not ovulating or are not ovulating regularly, or who are producing only low levels of hormones that are required to enable her to conceive. Ovulation induction involves taking a hormone medication (oral tablet or injection), which stimulates the production of follicle-stimulating hormone. This encourages the development of one or more follicles.
178590 tn?1294176767 Do you mean that you miscarried on August 27 and thought you ovulated Sept 15? If so, and your urine has not detected ovulation, then the way to ascertain your status is to do a blood test for a hormone called progesterone. If the progesterone is > 3, then you have ovulated in the recent past and if you do not get a period should get a pregnancy test also. If your periods are regular, then it is likely you are ovulating despite what your OPK testing says.
Avatar f tn Hi its possible, since during ovulation is the only time you can concieve.the hormone levels are only higher if there is a pregnancy..no pregnancy no hormone levels.it takes many couples many months to concieve straight away.you need to be knowing for a fact your ovulated, tests, charting maybe.now you have to wait to se if your period arrives.
Avatar n tn ovulation tests only test for the hormone that makes you ovulate, it doesn't actually tell you that you are or aren't ovulating. it's very possible that your body hasn't fully gotten rid of the hormone or that you haven't even ovulated yet!
Avatar f tn The hypothalamus and pituitary gland can sense an underactive thyroid gland and try to kick things back to normal by increasing levels of the hormones TRH (thyroid-releasing hormone) and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) in your body. TRH prompts the pituitary to release TSH, which in turn stimulates the thyroid to do its job. However, TRH also prompts the pituitary to release more of the hormone prolactin.
Avatar m tn They measure the Lh (lutenizing hormone) in the urine. Just before ovulation, there is a surge of this hormone that turns the test stick positive. Once it is positive, you should o (ovulate) within 48hrs or so.
Avatar f tn My fertility doctor has now prescribed several hormone supplements. I need to take Letrozole (to help ovulation), Premarin (=estrogen to help build up uterin lining) and duphaston. I was wondering if it is safe to combine this treatment with herbal supplements. I was thinking Evening Primrose Oil (period - ovulation), Flax Seed Oil (ovulation - period) and raspberry leaf tablets (all cycle). Does anyone know whether this is ok? Doe anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar n tn I have regular periods but my hormone profile test reads that prolactin level maybe to high for ovulation. What can I do?
