7074486 tn?1389932822 Yeah it happens to me too. Almost like the baby knows I'm upset lol. As for the water thing, my doctor said when your dehydrated you're body releases a hormone that mocks oxytocin (natural labor hormone) that causes you to have contractions.
Avatar f tn I agree that stress is a big one, but who can get rid of stress if you drive a car and have to eat and heat your home?? This is not a stress free environment at all and I do all the right meditative things and still it's horrible. Good luck and do a journal, maybe you'll find the answer.
Avatar f tn Stress causes our bodies to go into fight or flight mode and forces us to use our bodily resources make the stress hormone cortisol , instead of those resources making all the other hormones we and baby need. So, stress is not a good thing. But I'm sure if its short term baby will be fine. Women in war torn countries still end up having healthy babies :) take a deep breathe and get some relax time.
Avatar f tn I think they can. I had a lot of problems with my OCD when I was pregnant and of course there are a lot of hormonal changes going on. Also stress makes my OCD worse as well. What intrusive thoughts are you having?
798555 tn?1292787551 I have always been this way, but its worse now from the STRESS of being unemployed since Feb this year. Since I am hypothyroid , I should avoid natural hormone based sleep aids like Melatonin, it can interfere with thyroid hormone meds. I should add, my thyriod levels are good its not that. Tylonal PM makes me groggy the next day -not good. Cough syrup will make me sleep for 4 hours, then I wake. What works good? There is to many on the store shelf.
Avatar m tn In an effort to try and document a pattern, I recently clued into an increase of some symptoms just prior to or at the beginning of my period. (Stress definitely aggravates my conditions) I confronted my gyno, but basically got a response that it was a coincidence, and it had nothing to do with hormones. Could I be allergic to my own hormones? If so, how do I medically pursue a resolution. What kind of doctor and what kind of testing is best to determine if this is the case?
532636 tn?1213128073 At your age you should be under the Follicular stages of hormone changes. This test should reflect an Estradisol - FSH - LH Progesterone - cortisol and Prolactin and testerone. (sp) Unfortunately at your age the doctor is right - if you remain on birth control and have for long periods - you levels will be abnormal and due to taking the birth control your doctor will not take your condition as needing treatment. BAsically - sorry to say - but taking this test on birth control is useless.
Avatar f tn I get headaches now and again only thing that helps is cold flannel on forehead or back of neck. Doctor said they were tension headaches caused by stress. Found out what was stressing me out and rarely get them now(turns out it was my boss stressing me out) but yes cold flannel does help me. Dark room and quiet as well.
Avatar f tn My periods are very irregular and have been for about 5 years, and I am wondering if this is because my hormones are imbalanced due to stress. I am a college student and we have moved around to different areas several times since we got married. Plus, I have some other things that are causing me to be very stressed. When I was in high school, my periods were more regular so that's why I think my irregular periods could be just due to stress.
2006473 tn?1422033301 I have severe PCOS sounds like it may be your diagnosis...its not the end of the world. I've had a rough go because of it and see an endocrinologist just to treat it...it kicked in when i hit puberty and i wasnt officially diagnosed until i turned 30 because a lot of drs wont recognize it as a real condition...well actually they do now a days but they didnt used to.
Avatar m tn Before I took the blood test I had lots of health anxiety as I thought I had cancer. I was not sleeping or eating enough and I was under lots of emotional stress anyway I lost over 20 pounds in about three weeks before the blood was drawn. Would that drastically effect the levels of testosterone? I read that because of my age my testosterone should be in the upper third quadrant not the lower third quadrant.
Avatar n tn chronic, perhaps only occasional (though no less tortuous, for that) manifestations of such stress-related symptoms; and, the development of disease in the longer term (cancers, for example), I, among others, am convinced of the critical reality of this relationship/connection. (Chronic dependence on cortisone, moreover, can only negatively impact the body's hormone balance, with far-reaching effects).
Avatar f tn Your doctor should do some extensive hormone testing on you to get to the bottom of all of this. What you are describing sounds so much like hormone imbalance. I know there is a blood test out there (hormone related) to see how close you are to menopause. I really feel for you so don't feel alone. I go through a lot of what you are describing and I know, in my case that it is my hormones.
Avatar f tn m curious if anyone has experience with hormone imbalance (HI) related to perimenopause, and if the sometimes erratic symptoms of HI could include the symptoms I've described? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums. Thanks for your questions. We recommend that you see your doctor for an examination and to discuss this. Stress is something that our body does react to including delayed ovulation which leads to delayed menstrual cycles. https://www.webmd.com/women/why-is-my-period-so-random#1. Stress is on the list of things that can cause menstrual irregularity.
Avatar n tn You can get pregnant from pre semen. The chances are much lower than semen but it's possible. If you're 10 days late you can take a pregnancy test now and should get accurate results.
Avatar n tn Several factors may be considered for the delay of your menstrual period and this includes stress, psychological factors, certain medications, diet, hormonal disorders, structural abnormalities and disorders of the gynecologic tract. You may want to elaborate more on your headaches. Discuss your concerns with your physician and openly communicate with your partner, family and friends so that they may also be aware of what you are going through at this point.
Avatar n tn Well, I can have peace of mind....my cardiologist said my stress echo was "beautiful". A few Pvc's during the test, but other than that all is fine. He told me to try magnesium supplements and to increase my exercise level. That test was quite hard to get my pulse up to 164 beats! They said it was an accelerated machine and told me I did well..that it took a little longer than most, but I was younger than most people that come through there.
Avatar n tn I took a P-test in the first week I was late but it was negative. Should I schedule to see my doctor or could this just be a Hormone imbalance? A typical cycle is 24-26 days for me. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I hope I am now on the way to SVR but it is too early to know, anyway my fatigue did not go away after tx. I came to the knowledge of adrenal stress via looking at the thyroid hormone deficiency that I had. I found out that your thyroid can't work properly, even with hormone supplements, if your adrenals are not working properly.
Avatar f tn My MIL is a sweetheart, but by frig is she doing my head in!!!I'm 37 wks. She means well but she's incredibly nosey and thinks that she knows best. I hate being backed into a corner or being repeatedly asked the same question when my answer never changes. I talked to hubby about it but he thinks I'm over reacting because they "are such a close family". Like for example SIL got married... She made it her mission to inform each and every one of us of the cost...

Avatar n tn s not the least bit unusual to have high antibody counts and/or thyroid damage before TSH or actual thyroid hormone levels are out of range. As you know Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease in which the body sees the thyroid as foreign and produces antibodies to destroy it. The destruction process, typically takes many years and most of us have it long before the destruction has progressed enough to even cause symptoms, which often, also, show up before TSH, FT3 and FT4 go out of range.
1023657 tn?1251844941 It may be stated that there are a number of factors involved. Physical or emotional stress, Rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases, such as Lupus, are particularly likely to develop Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia may occur spontaneously. Other factors are- Genetic factors, Abnormal serotonin Metabolism and Deficient growth hormone. Since the cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, there is no fibromyalgia cure. However symptomatic relief can be provided by using a combination of therapies..
