Avatar f tn I'll try to be brief. Age 49, perimenopausal and losing hair. Hair replacement specialist sent me to a "medispa" for hormone balancing by a physician. My hormone blood levels were tested mid-cycle. He determined that my hormone levels were "normal" but not "optimal". In the course of this workup, he ordered copies of all my old breast exams, PAP's and bloodwork.

Avatar n tn Hi, I had itching too, for me it was a sign of low estrogen. You are right about the progesterone and cortisol, however, you may also need to obtain some bioidentical estrogen cream thru your gyn. That is how I finally found relief from the itching myself. I take the estrogen cream, every morning, and I started with a very low dose, and built up with my doctor's supervision.

Avatar m tn is it possible for the chronically anxious person to be under such mental stress for such a long period of time, with panic attacks occurring occasionally, that your body will be so thrown off, like say, a bulimic/anorexic person, in terms of electrolytes balancing and adrenal hormone production, that exercising/going back to a regularly strength training routine would pose a risk of dangerous arrhythmias due to poor electrolyte/microminerals metabolism?
Avatar f tn Well I havent gone through menopause yet, but I did see a womens health doctor and she tested all my hormone levels and said I was in pre menopause, I was only 31 at the time, she wanted to start me on hormone replacement therapy, she said it would help with my anxiety so much, I didnt want to start HRT at such a young age, and you always hear about women that get cancer with hormone Replacement so I was scared as well. And then maybe after a week of that kind of monitoring off to the doctor you go. Check your diet too.

Avatar n tn You posted the same questions 3 times, so I'm only going to respond once. The thyroid is a gland located in the front of the neck that controls body temp and metabolism, among other things. Hypothyoidism is when a person's thyroid gland is underactive (doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone). You can do a web search for it to come up with tons of information (including pictures of the thyroid gland, symptoms, causes, treatments, etc).
401095 tn?1351391770 and as you can imagine, the entire balancing out and replacing missing hormones is an extremely delicate balancing act....and every BODY is different....so that throws another wrench into an already tricky situation....anybody who's ever had a hysterectomy (both ovaries removed also) about 10 years prior to when her normal menopause would have been can, i'm sure, relate to most if not all of what i'm saying here....so, that's a long-winded explanation about the DHEA....
Avatar m tn Once I stopped it, I took a hormone balancing vitamin so my hormones wouldn’t go crazy. Right after I took the vitamin, I got my period again. I just had my period 14 days ago. My cycles are usually 30-35+. I also am getting rashes and my whole body is itchy. I’m not sure what’s going on and I’m very worried. I only missed one pill before I got my period. It’s not even spotting, it’s a full period. I’ve taken these vitamins before and was fine so I’m guessing it’s the pill but I’m not sure.
Avatar n tn You are totally describing perimenopausal symtoms. I see you have entered the world of perimenopause where doctors are now going to tell YOU how you feel.... tongue in cheek... sorry. The scope of the help you can get here may be a bit limitied jus because the subject matter you have brought up is HUGE. HUGE. And, it is also controversial (sadly). You will feel like you have a Master's degree in Menopausal (and perimenopausal) issues by the time you are done, but do keep researching.
