1604313 tn?1304361623 You can get blood tests done to check hormone levels (as PCOS occurs due to hormonal imbalance) and get a sonogram to check out your ovaries.
Avatar f tn Since the surgery, I have experienced bouts of anxiety, depression and was also diqgnosed with fibromyalgia. I read about how my left ovary should sustain my hormone levels. The dr. who performed my surgery thought I might be hypoglycemic, but all tests including hormonal tests a few years ago came bAck negative. I get severe Pmdd and still continue to suffer from bouts of anxiety and depression. Before the surgery, I was in excellent aerobic shape. Now, I am feeling cheated in life.
Avatar f tn This is very common and gets worse with weight gain. Basically it boils down to an imbalance in hormones. The hormone imbalance results in infrequent ovulation which then results in infrequent periods. It can be difficult to get pregnant with PCOS, BUT one should not count on PCOS to prevent pregnancy--its definitely not birth control! The usual treatment for women who do not currently want pregnancy is oral contraceptive pills. These regulate your periods an prevent endometrial cancer.
Avatar n tn Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome has to do with hormone balances, you don't always have to have trouble with insulin or weight gain or hair growth. I don't have insulin problems but I still have PCOS. It takes blood work to confirm PCOS. You can have polycystic ovaries and not have the hormone imbalance. It does not always mean you will have trouble conceiving. You never know until you try.
Avatar n tn I started my periods when I was 9 and fully developed at that age, they were really painful, lasted 2 weeks and very heavy, I was anemic at one point. Do you think it could be hormone imbalance I am suffering from?
Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
Avatar n tn HE SAID THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE DUE TO STRESS........HE SAID THAT HE WAS POSITIVE OF THIS AND GAVE ME PROGESTERONE TO TAKE FOR FIVE DAYS........HE WAS RIGHT........EVERYTHING IS BACK ON TRACK AND I WAS CALM AFTER THAT.........WELL, MY DOCTOR WHO DID THE BLOOD WORK AND URINE TEST BEFORE THE OBGYN VISIT AND HORMONES, HAD HER RECEPTIONIST CALL ME AND SAY THAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND THAT THE DR. WAS PRESCRIBING 2 MEDICATIONS FOR ME......
Avatar f tn Found the same size dermoid cyst on the right ovary and had laparoscopic (spelling?) surgery on December 6th 2011 to remove cyst along with about 50% of the right ovary. I am now having shifts in emotions like bouts of sadness, then some anxiety. I am feeling very irritable and impatient. I have been sleeping alot and waking up sweating, then feeling very cold at night, to the point where it's difficult to warm up. I feel like my body is completely off balance.
Avatar f tn Hi, Hot flashes are because of hormonal imbalance, but this should not result after removal of one ovary and at such a young age. The pain can be because of post-operative adhesions, infection, ovarian cysts etc. An ultrasound scan may be necessary to make a diagnosis. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Im 30 years old and i had a partial hysterectomy back in 2013 they removed my uterus and cervix. Then in 2014 i had my right ovary removed leaving me with just my left ovary. And now i obvously dont have a menstrual cycle but i still ovulate which is the worst ever and now i am gettin like hot flashes or whatever.. My face gets bright red and my whole body feels like im standing in a sauna its lasted about an hr so far and im just wondering if its an imbalance..
1134902 tn?1296066144 anywho my question is...could this be caused by a hormone imbalance brought on by my intense workout? even tho Im only spotting, Im still cramping. My family doc is booked up until the new year, so I can't see her anytime soon.
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar m tn I am wondering the same thing. I had one ovary and tube removed a few days ago. I guess I'm curious as I'm a 65 year old woman and I didn't realize that our ovaries actually do continue to supply hormones throughout our lives. Since my surgery I've been feeling weepy and over emotional. I think getting a bit of exercise, walking, is our best medicine.
Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
Avatar m tn One ovary will take over for the other....should be fine. Best of luck to you.
