Since the surgery, I have experienced bouts of anxiety, depression and was also diqgnosed with fibromyalgia. I read about how my left ovary should sustain my hormone levels. The dr. who performed my surgery thought I might be hypoglycemic, but all tests including hormonal tests a few years ago came bAck negative. I get severe Pmdd and still continue to suffer from bouts of anxiety and depression. Before the surgery, I was in excellent aerobic shape. Now, I am feeling cheated in life.
I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
HE SAID THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE DUE TO STRESS........HE SAID THAT HE WAS POSITIVE OF THIS AND GAVE ME PROGESTERONE TO TAKE FOR FIVE DAYS........HE WAS RIGHT........EVERYTHING IS BACK ON TRACK AND I WAS CALM AFTER THAT.........WELL, MY DOCTOR WHO DID THE BLOOD WORK AND URINE TEST BEFORE THE OBGYN VISIT AND HORMONES, HAD HER RECEPTIONIST CALL ME AND SAY THAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND THAT THE DR. WAS PRESCRIBING 2 MEDICATIONS FOR ME......
m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Hi, I am 31 years old. Lost my left ovary last February due to ovarian torsion out of the blue because of a dermoid cyst. Found the same size dermoid cyst on the right ovary and had laparoscopic (spelling?) surgery on December 6th 2011 to remove cyst along with about 50% of the right ovary.
I am now having shifts in emotions like bouts of sadness, then some anxiety. I am feeling very irritable and impatient.
Im 30 years old and i had a partial hysterectomy back in 2013 they removed my uterus and cervix. Then in 2014 i had my right ovary removed leaving me with just my left ovary. And now i obvously dont have a menstrual cycle but i still ovulate which is the worst ever and now i am gettin like hot flashes or whatever.. My face gets bright red and my whole body feels like im standing in a sauna its lasted about an hr so far and im just wondering if its an imbalance..
i had my right ovary taken out in 2010 and i have been getting these very severe hot flashes i am also having pain when i run and walk do you have ny ideas on whayt it might be i am only 16

The hormone imbalance results in infrequent ovulation which then results in infrequent periods. It can be difficult to get pregnant with PCOS, BUT one should not count on PCOS to prevent pregnancy--its definitely not birth control!
The usual treatment for women who do not currently want pregnancy is oral contraceptive pills. These regulate your periods an prevent endometrial cancer.
If you DO want a baby, you may need to consult a reproductive endocrinologist for some fertility medications.
