Common Questions and Answers about Hormone imbalance long periods

Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
Avatar f tn ve been noticing my periods getting shorter. Not very noticeable at first. My periods should be about 5 days. Last month it was getting noticeable, it was 3.5 days. This month it was 2.5 days, and that wasn't even a continuous 2.5 days, the flow stopped partway through for about a half a day and then resumed. This is really abnormal for me. Good part is - normally I was having bad cramps on my first day, not extremely bad but enough to make me take an ibuprofen.
Avatar n tn Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus. I suggest you to get it checked from a gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I am just worried that my hormones may not balance out on their own because of me not having regular periods for so long (5 years).
1134902 tn?1296066144 anywho my question is...could this be caused by a hormone imbalance brought on by my intense workout? even tho Im only spotting, Im still cramping. My family doc is booked up until the new year, so I can't see her anytime soon.
Avatar f tn You could have a hormone imbalance. You really need to see an ob/gyn right away as you could now be anemic with bleeding for 8 weeks. Call your doctor and set up an appointment.
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar n tn HE SAID THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE DUE TO STRESS........HE SAID THAT HE WAS POSITIVE OF THIS AND GAVE ME PROGESTERONE TO TAKE FOR FIVE DAYS........HE WAS RIGHT........EVERYTHING IS BACK ON TRACK AND I WAS CALM AFTER THAT.........WELL, MY DOCTOR WHO DID THE BLOOD WORK AND URINE TEST BEFORE THE OBGYN VISIT AND HORMONES, HAD HER RECEPTIONIST CALL ME AND SAY THAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND THAT THE DR. WAS PRESCRIBING 2 MEDICATIONS FOR ME......
Avatar f tn d start. The irregularity in your period could indicate a hormone imbalance or something like polycystic ovaries, and it would be better to know that sooner rather than later.
Avatar f tn Hello, You seem to be having the symptoms of metrorrhagia(heavy periods). Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus. I would suggest you to consult a gynecologist and get a pelvic examination, hormone panel, ultrasound and swab culture done to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
Avatar f tn You are young! When I was in my 20's, I had a hormone imbalance. It appears when estrogen and progesterone are imbalanced, you can have irregular bleeding and abnormally heavy periods. https://www.chop.edu/conditions-diseases/heavy-menstrual-bleeding-menorrhagia Other reasons are things like fibroids or endometriosis. None is serious if any of those.
Avatar f tn As I've mentioned in my previous post, I have the strong feeling that I have a hormone imbalance. For 3 years, I've been overemotional/irritable/nervous, have had light/skipped periods, persistent acne,(I'm 20 and I don't feel like this should be happening), and hot flashes. These problems have gotten progressively worse over the years. The problem is though, that I feel like I have the symptoms of both estrogen dominance and estrogen deficiency.
Avatar f tn These symptoms sound like a prolactin hormone imbalance. Do you also feel kind of achy and tired?
Avatar f tn Hello, You seem to be having the symptoms of menometrorrhagia. Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases, PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus.I would advise an gynecologist’s evaluation and an ultrasound uterus to ruled out the above possibilities.
5769308 tn?1374218906 1will my hormone imbalance resolve on its own i been haaving irregular late periods. because its stress related my doctor told me that i should just relax and wait. i could also take dyan pills (contraceptive i think) will that help? 2. doctor also told me my vaginal ph level is also 6.5 im not sure if that is normal? i am also have been having bacterial infection also caused by this imbalance. i started taking probiotic supplements not sure if it will help.
Avatar f tn Have you had your hormone balance checked? Hormone imbalance can cause that type of cyst/abscess around the vaginal area. I have also had the same problem in the past, and it was present for years. Since I have tested my hormone levels and started treating the imbalance, the cysts have completely disappeared. Hormone imbalances can also cause deficiencies in vitamins in the body that are essential for your immune system.
Avatar f tn First, I had too much estrogen production (hormone imbalance) and a slow thyroid, secondly. Without intervention, both resolved for me. So, I do also need to point out there are simple reasons that women are late and they can include, changes in routine, stress, illness, weight gain or loss. and then hormonal imbalance like I mentioned and thyroid issues. Anything like that going on? I'm late right now think because of all the lock down stuff.
