Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.

So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.

She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.

But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.

I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!

No groups have been suggested to me or offered. I feel out in left field all alone. Are there any hoarders in this company, and what are they doing to deal with it?

'Gurl, I know what you mean about watching those shows, only for me it is Hoarders and Clean House. I don't know why I watch them because especially with Hoarders I feel sad afterward. Maybe I am looking for answers about my mom and trying to understand. My husband tries to understand but he thinks I dwell on the bad stuff too much. He may be right. A lot of this is simply way beyond me or my control. The main positive is that watching that stuff renews my vow to not be like that.

I have about 4 or 5 stones to lose and have joined a Slimming World group near to where I live. Is anybody else doing Slimming World? I only joined the group on Monday morning, but I did follow the same diet last year and lost just over 2 stones. I didn't keep it up though and have put the weight back on :o( Hope everyone's doing good and having a good week.

Congratulations on 6 days clean! Aftercare, like NA, will really help in dealing with the outside world. Ariley is right on when she says "We need to be focused on getting better". Aftercare is the ticket to getting better. Addiction is a complex disease that needs to be treated. The physical part is one thing, but when we take away all the drugs, we unearth some complex thinking which had been dormant while we were out getting loaded.

Anyone else here follow Slimming World? I've been doing it for 9 weeks now and lost 1 1/2 stone so far! Anyone else on the same plan, please add as a friend as I'd love to meet some people on here who have made thus healthy living choice too!

My poor kids have been on about the world ending all day!! Its supposed to be at 9.11pm tonight, its currently 4.30pm here in aussie and they can't stop going on about it. To make it worse it looks like its about to storm here as well, all dark and cloudy. I think everything will be fine, we all want to meet our little bubs!!

It's day 9 off the oxys for me and I've been having such a difficult time coming to the scary realization that I cannot allow myself to experience that euphoric rush and every other blissful feeling that comes with the high ever again. If I do I most certainly will fall right back into the fiery pits of hell. I have noticed how boring life is lately and I am overwhelmed with anxiety. I am also more depressed that I have ever been in my entire life.

But the Philadelphia Phillies, my home town team, have won the 2008 World Series..and it is just crazy here in Philadelphia. I live in South Philly, so it is just pure pandamonium...1000's of people and I mean 1000's, flooded the streets as soon as they won and its been madness ever since. They deserved it and I am so happy to be a part of this city. Its so cool...

Anyone ever let their dog (we have 5, so namely the Alpha) hang out inside your house during the birth? I am only 20+6 but I'm thinking ahead. I wonder if letting my alpha female hang out inside will help the other dogsbe okay with baby... You know? Since how she feels kind of determines how the others feel/react. We have 3 indoor dogs, and 2 outdoor dogs (dont worry, we have acreage, we're not just dog hoarders... Lol people just dump em out here and three are rescues...

i live in a 3rd world country.they say to test for hiv at 6 months...some say 3.when should i test?i tested at 4-5 months. or is it now world wide from since 2004 to test at 3 months?
