hoarders

Avatar f tn Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
Avatar f tn (I stopped sleeping on my back 3 years ago when I had a couple of episodes of waking up feeling like I was being choked). The surgeon ran a scope up my nose so he could see down my throat. He said that my thyroid is compressing my trachea and is obstructing 35% of the opening of my airway. He recommended total thyroidectomy but said it is not urgent at this time and that I can wait until it gets bigger and the symptoms get worse. He left the decision up to me.
Avatar f tn So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
1569985 tn?1328247482 Just wondering if anyone who has good luck with an afib ablation might share their experience. I know a lot of posts on here are about problems that people are seeking answers for. I'm in a tight spot and have been in the hospital 4 times in the last 4 months and had 3 cardioversions. I am now on amiodarone and have had one episode of afib on it. I am told it is not a drug for the long-term. I am scheduled to have the ablation in mid January at the U of M Medical Center.
662972 tn?1270166301 She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.
473760 tn?1215219977 usually rapid cycling is more a "profile'.I know it is for me, but it's not like you cycle rapidly 24/7,you only do while you're having episodes and yes most episodes are triggered by stress, a good way for you to keep tracks of your cycle is through journaling, you should come up with a pattern.
Avatar f tn Assistant Called with the results first saying it was normal, then the cardiologist himself called back saying he wanted to start him on beta blockers asap because there were 96 episodes and some instances of vtach at180. Avg.125. he doesn't want to take the beta blockers. He's hesitant of being in a daily med that could cause side effects. He's maybe going to start up the anxiety meds to see if that helps.
967168 tn?1477584489 However, with all your history and other health challenges, these symptoms and your upcoming ablation, I would definitely talk to my doc about it -- especially if you have any more episodes. Hope you are feeling better soon and good luck with the upcoming ablation!
Avatar m tn For the last 3 years I have been experiencing what I call "episodes". When these episodes occur, it feels like I'm on a very bad drug trip. When they are severe, I can't function, and I can barely cope with anything. I have had every test imaginable, including CT scans of my brain. I was told everything was normal. The route that I was told to try was a to depressants. So, I was on Effexor, that never quite worked.
1340864 tn?1276051135 I'm Jessica! I'm a college student. I'm having these episodes. I've had seven like this in the past year. I have chest pains, heavy-chested feeling, neck pain, extreme migraines, double vision at times, and dizziness. I had a similar experince 3 years ago. It was a blackout, no hearing, bad heache, and heavy chest feeling but it passed in about 15 minutes. These current episodes can last up to a day now. I'm really worried it's nurological.
Avatar n tn I have been having some episodes. I get dizzy and the nausea kicks in then I go to the restroom (vomitting). Afterwards I'm worn out and have cold sweats. For fear of vomitting and bringing back the horrible nausea and chills I dont eat for the rest of the day only sipping sprite. I dont have health insurance currently and cant afford a trip to the doctors. I was diagnosed with anxiety attacks about a year ago, I was taking effexor 75mg.
1139187 tn?1355706647 If it wasnt for these episodes i could probably get a job and work. I am a manager-level experienced person who sits on the computer all day and reads every post known to mankind. I thought originally this was from taking thyroid but its been 7 weeks now.
Avatar f tn So I have been having somewhat frequent episodes where all the sudden I feel light headed/dizzy/close to blacking out. When it happens I feel like I'm having heart palpitations, & shortness of breath. I talked to my OB about it. When these episodes were first happening, I was standing. He said it could be from blood pooling. Makes sense except the night before my appt I had an episode while sitting down. He said maybe it was my sugar was low. I had just eaten.
Avatar f tn But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
Avatar f tn I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
Avatar n tn Choking episodes at night, hoarse voice, loss of voice and breath if yawning. Blood work revealed low Vit D and Calcium levels, told to up vit D and Calcium intake. Fibro meds include Voltarin, Flexeril, Celexa and HCTZ for BP. ENT visit is sched for upcoming Monday. Questions...will they do a FNA biopsy right then and there? Pain with that?
