1745492 tn?1320198340 i used to get weird episodes that included the tingling and loss of vision you describe - it totally felt like electricity, and i could hear and was aware as well. it went on from about the time i was 12 until i was in my 20s, and though i saw a slew of neurologists and had a history of seizures, they never diagnosed me with anything. my only abnormal test was the EEG. anyway, i was trying to figure out something else when i stumbled upon an article about POTS.
Avatar m tn my son is 21yrs, he keeps having these weird episodes every 6mths or so, clammy sweat, pupils dilate, gray skin, blue lips, near fainting if standing, ears ringing, slurred speech, I am so scared, don't know what is wrong, and he is frustrated, have been to Dr's and they can't figure it out, Im starting to get nervous it doesn't make any sense?
Avatar n tn A year ago I went to a cardiologist about my heart episodes (the last time I went was 8 years before that). He said it was normal and to stay away from caffeine. He didn't tell me what I had. Just recently, since September, I've been having a minimum 30 heart episodes a day and I don't think it's normal anymore. I start breathing heavily to try & controI it. It makes me nauseous & sometimes my vision gets blurry.
Avatar f tn Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
Avatar f tn So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
Avatar m tn I am having more vertigo episodes than usual. Doctor has put me on a water reducing pill and has given me Vailum to help, but is there anything else that can reduce the length of vertigo attacks? Only thing that seems to work for me is going to bed. I really need something that can stop these very quickly. It is hard to get a job when you have to tell someone that you may need to stop to have these spells run there course then continue a job. Please help me if you know anything.
Avatar n tn My otherwise healthy, 47 year old husband is prone to fainting during midnight episodes of stomach upset, and only then. The problem is that because there are walls around 3 sides of the toilet seat in our master bathroom, he remains sitting upright on the toilet after he loses consciousness instead of falling on the floor.
1299272 tn?1312476830 This is a good web site below, for more information but Iindahand is right, Bipolar 1 is were you experience full blown mania episodes i think for more than a week eg, ( hyper mood, rapid speech, little need for sleep, erratic spending, increase sex drive etc) as well as depression episodes for more than 2 weeks, eg( low mood, sad, crying, decreased or increased appetite, sleep more or less than normal, no energy etc) Bipolar 2 is were you experience hypo-mania which is like a mild version of m
Avatar m tn Recently i had to episodes of flashing in the outer part of my left eye. I went and had it check and he said it was a migraine without the pain. I laughed it was so ridiculous. It only last for 2-5 minutes and it gone. I do have feelings or light pain behind my left eye, top of my right eye lid, and around the forehead. Today I experience mild numbness on the left side of my face and only lasted a few minutes. Any one have an ideas what up?
Avatar m tn It is unlikely to be asthma as its episodes happen early morning and is associated with cough. Most probably it is sleep apnea. “Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common category of sleep-disordered breathing. The muscle tone of the body ordinarily relaxes during sleep and at the level of the throat the human airway is composed of collapsible walls of soft tissue which can obstruct breathing during sleep.
662972 tn?1270166301 She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.
Avatar n tn This is a difficult situation you are in. The diarrhea is part of the panic / anxiety episodes. You could also have what is called as Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is a functional disorder in which psychological issues play a major role. Anxiety and stresses increase the bowel movements associated with abdominal pain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irritable_bowel_syndrome The numbness in the hands and the rest of the body is another characteristic of acute anxiety.
Avatar n tn If you are not on a mood stabiliser (and you really should be if you are experiencing mixed episodes) then the symptoms you have described are not abnormal and agitated symptoms such as morning anger, arousal and racing heartbeat are all normal - I suffer from dsyphoric mania myself and those are common morning symptoms for me - the reality is that you wake up unstable and slightly dehydrated and when you eat you stabilise - what you call not being as clear minded is because your mania is calm
Avatar f tn I had about 10 episodes of 140 BPN over ten years with no more complications than emergency room trips for conversion or conversion at home with propafenone. My particular type was atrial flutter which appears to have been cured by ablation a little over a year ago. If your heart is otherwise healthy it is a condition that can be managed (but certainly no enjoyed!) https://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn For the last 3 years I have been experiencing what I call "episodes". When these episodes occur, it feels like I'm on a very bad drug trip. When they are severe, I can't function, and I can barely cope with anything. I have had every test imaginable, including CT scans of my brain. I was told everything was normal. The route that I was told to try was a to depressants. So, I was on Effexor, that never quite worked.
1340864 tn?1276051135 I'm Jessica! I'm a college student. I'm having these episodes. I've had seven like this in the past year. I have chest pains, heavy-chested feeling, neck pain, extreme migraines, double vision at times, and dizziness. I had a similar experince 3 years ago. It was a blackout, no hearing, bad heache, and heavy chest feeling but it passed in about 15 minutes. These current episodes can last up to a day now. I'm really worried it's nurological.
Avatar n tn I have been having some episodes. I get dizzy and the nausea kicks in then I go to the restroom (vomitting). Afterwards I'm worn out and have cold sweats. For fear of vomitting and bringing back the horrible nausea and chills I dont eat for the rest of the day only sipping sprite. I dont have health insurance currently and cant afford a trip to the doctors. I was diagnosed with anxiety attacks about a year ago, I was taking effexor 75mg.
1139187 tn?1355706647 If it wasnt for these episodes i could probably get a job and work. I am a manager-level experienced person who sits on the computer all day and reads every post known to mankind. I thought originally this was from taking thyroid but its been 7 weeks now.
Avatar f tn So I have been having somewhat frequent episodes where all the sudden I feel light headed/dizzy/close to blacking out. When it happens I feel like I'm having heart palpitations, & shortness of breath. I talked to my OB about it. When these episodes were first happening, I was standing. He said it could be from blood pooling. Makes sense except the night before my appt I had an episode while sitting down. He said maybe it was my sugar was low. I had just eaten.
Avatar f tn But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
Avatar f tn I had my second svt episode a few days ago. 7 months between episodes. I found both times I had alot of caffeine in my system and was also dehydrated. Has anybody had any dramatic svt changes by simply cutting out coffee, colas, chocolate, sugar and staying hydrated? Also does your svt episode cause you to feel exhausted for a few days? This scares the crap out of me and I am hoping to make a difference by watching what I put in my body.
Avatar f tn I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
