Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
It also depends on what area of psychology you want to go into. Forensic psychology is based on law and psychology together, so you would have to take more courses. I would search the internet, and look up various universities to find the prerequisites for psychology courses before making a final decision.
No groups have been suggested to me or offered. I feel out in left field all alone. Are there any hoarders in this company, and what are they doing to deal with it?
Unless NY is really different from the rest of the country, psychologists can't write prescriptions. They are currently lobbying for that power, but psychologists are deeply divided on whether or not to be involved in that. I know my psychologist opposes having that power. As to whether to see a psychologist or psychiatrist, the problem is that psychiatrists on health insurance plans don't do therapy; they hardly know meds.
I have gone back to college again at 59. Need to finish my BA. Psychology/English. I might go for my Masters in Psychology.
So I am only on one med, and I am in Secondary Progressive. Could be worse. I still enjoy life. I am a homebody so not going out too much has little impact on me. I'd like to finish my degrees and get back out there though.
I would definitely make sure the psychiatrist you bring him to is experienced in child psychology, as this is very important, considering the upraise in all the children being misdiagnosed with mental illness. Children are misunderstood when it comes to psychology because there all ready going through many different moods and changes. So it is best to have a doctor who knows how to Analise a child's mental health, and in that field experience is the best knowledge.
i have this problem which i suspect might be ibs ( irritable bowel syndrome) and i pass frequent stools but this happens only at a particular tym, wen i am about to go out or about to face a tense situation like an interview then i wud not be able to leave the house without passing stools 2-3 times, passing stools relieves me and gives me a confidence that it isnt going to happen once more, this is a psychological problem partially as well as physical problem too, i am a psychology student so ha
