Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
So my husband has lived in our house for 15 year and has had two women live here before me! They left all their stuff here underwear beds clothes shoes and I don't want to go through their clothes I just want to throw them I. A dumpster or burn them Andy husband is insulting me bc he wants me to go through wash and sell this **** that is rotting away!!
I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
My psychiatrist and psychotherapist are aware of this problem, and I am on a medication for it to no avail. Other than the medication, we never seem able to really get down and address the issue.
I am considering practicing self-hypnosis to see if maybe I can change my thought pattern. Otherwise I am feeling pretty helpless and frustrated.
I want to get beyond this and live a healthy lifestyle. No groups have been suggested to me or offered. I feel out in left field all alone.
Same hear... I can't stand my father-in-law right now. He had to live with us and since being pregnant, I seem to dislike him sooooo much. Everything he does gets on my nerves. I'm blaming my mood on my hormones and being so sick.
Anyone ever let their dog (we have 5, so namely the Alpha) hang out inside your house during the birth? I am only 20+6 but I'm thinking ahead. I wonder if letting my alpha female hang out inside will help the other dogsbe okay with baby... You know? Since how she feels kind of determines how the others feel/react.
We have 3 indoor dogs, and 2 outdoor dogs (dont worry, we have acreage, we're not just dog hoarders... Lol people just dump em out here and three are rescues...
I have been with my boyfriend for going on 4 years. Have lived with him for almost 2. While there is no abuse, fighting, name calling it just doesn't feel like a good relationship. Let me give a little back story.
I moved into his house after helping my mother out for a couple of years. His house looked like something out of a hoarders episode.
Charmaine I think he's just pissed right now and didn't mean what he said. I can tell U it's very traumatic for a hoarder to part with their things. If u didn't do it he would not. They always find a reason to need those things even though everyone around them knows they don't. It might seem useless to you but means a lot to him. Hoarding is a condition a lot of them don't realize becomes a problem to ppl around them.
All of these losses took quite a toll on my dad. I didn’t realize he started drinking so heavy until it was to late. He started having serious issues (mental confusion, seizures, heart problems) in 2015/2016. I begged him to stop drinking, still not knowing that many of his problems were related to cirrhosis. I just knew the drinking wasn’t helping. He continued to go in and out of the hospital for various reasons.
Umm no. You are not wrong. It is completely YOUR decision. There's no way in hell my mil will be staying with us-there are definitely some issues with boundaries that she doesn't respect (like wanting to go with on our honeymoon for instance!) she would try to take over & it would not end well, really it would just be more stressful to have her around.
He then turned on the garbage disposal! I get yelled at for saying his name sternly when he goes flying towards the stairs which have no gate. At a different time he grabbed a knife by the blade! Why was a knife in the living room to begin with?! They rough house with him and laugh when he falls. He ends up with cuts and bruises because they aren't careful.
Why in the world would I want my child to go through that?! Hubby doesn't understand why I'm soo upset!
Well we give him meds for his stomach when the problem arises. We just put him on a new food designed for senstive stomachs. I think it is helping.
Anyway, we have flea treated him and our own cats and as well as the carpets and stuff. He still has the scaly skin. It is nasty. Last time when we took him for the cold weather and nights this happened (as I stated the vet said skin allergies) and I brushed and brushed him and he felt so much better that crusty stuff came off.
Hi, we have a friend who lives in similiar conditions to your sister. We really do think our friend is depressed by her living conditions but has no motivation to improve her situation so the condition of her flat gets worse and worse and she gets more depressed by her conditions. This has been going on for the last 15 years and she's now reached the age of 64. She has a husband but he's a lazy slob and does nothing about their awful living conditions.
