Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.

I was going to mention, is it that your friends place is really sloppy and dirty or is it that she is a pack rat and doesn't want to throw any old stuff away? Funny thing about how people live...... The service work I do put's me in different peoples homes everyday. What I always find amazing is that filth and slobery have no economical boundries. I have been in super wealthy peoples homes that are trash pits and I have been in super poor peoples homes that are neat and clean.

So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.

Holy cow of course this relationship doesn't feel good. That feeling is your inner voice telling you to leave--so listen! A hoarder experiences a great amount of anxiety when faced with the decision to throw something away. They are usually very sentimental persons, and like to keep everything to hold on the memory. Persons who are slobs are just plain lazy and can't be bothered to clean up or throw anything out. Although I think that a lot of hoarders are slobs in some ways as well.

She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.

But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.

I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!

They had been abandoned out in the country and a gentleman picked them and 5 other dogs up to find them homes. As of Friday we will be fostering the others until we can find homes for them. If he couldnt find homes for them by Friday the Sheriff was going to destroy them because there is not a shelter out in that county and our county wont drive out to pick them up. So, we are doing our part to save these dogs. Holy cow, its going to be crazy until we find them all homes.

No groups have been suggested to me or offered. I feel out in left field all alone. Are there any hoarders in this company, and what are they doing to deal with it?

So thus morning I woke up late. I had literally 20 mins to get dressed and get my daughter to preschool and myself to class. So I took my methadone lock box with me. Figuring if I started to feel icky I would go out on my break and dose. I left it in my trunk and went to class. Well I haven't been parking in the parking lot because I have heard that numerous people have had their cars hit and dented. Which right now is sounding pretty good.

From 7 1/2 weeks to 8 1/2 weeks breeders evaluate the puppies to determine which puppies will go to show homes, which to pet homes and which to working homes. This one week in a puppy's life is the window period where the puppy will look the closest to what he will look like as an adult.

Yes lots right it you just have to find the one that will write it to you. After going 3 yrs you should have take homes and you wouldnt have to fight out daily. What state are you in will message me that info cause they dont like giving out that info on post here...

You drive thru the area and it would seem that one out of 5 homes are sitting vacant. Now keep in mind that a deed restricted area means you have rules that you have to abide with in order to live in the area. If you park your car in the grass next to the driveway you get a citation. The banks foreclosed on these homes and they have been left if terrible disaray. The pools have not been kept up, the grass and shrubs are nasty.

I have earned a month worth of take homes n have had them for a very long time. There has been 4 occassions now that my urine tests come back positive for methadone but no methadone metabolite. This has occurred even when I was getting dosed daily at the clinic. The clinic took all my take homes because they said if I was taking my methadone the metabolite would show up. I have never in the 6yrs in the clinic, ever missed a single dose. How is this possible?

He owns 9 homes.... How many of you middle classers have 9 homes? Do you really think someone who owns 9 homes has an inkling of what being middle class is even like? I'm guessing he has no idea of what it is to be poor.

'Gurl, I know what you mean about watching those shows, only for me it is Hoarders and Clean House. I don't know why I watch them because especially with Hoarders I feel sad afterward. Maybe I am looking for answers about my mom and trying to understand. My husband tries to understand but he thinks I dwell on the bad stuff too much. He may be right. A lot of this is simply way beyond me or my control. The main positive is that watching that stuff renews my vow to not be like that.

I agree with April. You are doing the best possible things for them. The mother has been living on her own, and can't live in a human home, so spay and release is best for her. If you can find indoor homes for the kittens, as April recommends, it will be better than placing them with rescue or humane society, as they have more kittens than they can find homes for. Your daughter is doing a good work.

I grew up in the system foster homes/group homes an was even supposed to be adopted. For me the thoughts are there's a special bonding carrying your baby for 9 mo and its yours. Your child looks like you will remind you of yourself as a child. If your lucky enough to adopt a baby the concerns are unknown health issues that could arise. An older adopted child could be scarred mentally/physically an could have issues that arise.

I do hospice I'm not in a building unfortunately. I go to nursing homes, assisted livings and to patients homes.

Devel in disguise I must say, they will only taper me 2 mg/2wks, only get weekend take homes and mon, wed, fri, take homes. WDs *****! There are easy route, I am having problems with this taper. Good luck to you.Try the Thomas recipe, it's all vitamins & herbs.

Unfortunately, this is the worst time of the year for finding homes for all of the cats that need them, because it is kitten season. Private groups like the Humane Society are probably full and can't take them. Public shelters who have to take them may need to euthanize them if they have no more space. If you could take care of them or find some one that can until the fall, the odds of them finding homes would increase.
