hoarders

3828469 tn?1358462325 I'm watching an episode where this lady has a week old baby boy and her hoarding is so bad there are dead rats everywhere! Like seriously how are these people allowed to take their kids home and keep them!?
Avatar n tn Without a doubt MikeFlake, Linda needs to go her cardiologist as soon as possible. Conditions have changed and he/she needs to know what is now taking place. In my humble opinion, Linda should operate in such a way as to put "no load" on her heart what's so ever. She really needs to be checked out. If her Doctor is unavailable, take her to the emergency room and bring all of her meds with her. They need to know the type of prescription as well as dosage. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
Avatar f tn Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
Avatar f tn So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
Avatar m tn In my opinion, you should have had a biopsy already. I was treated with Proton Radiation at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda California. From talking to the various patients while there being treated, it became very clear to me that the main sign is an increase in the PSA. I met men whose PSA had increased from 2.00 to 3.00 and they had biopsies and found out that they had cancer. Personally I would go to another urologist and get biopsy as soon as possible.
662972 tn?1270166301 She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.
1954418 tn?1327275446 Each time you have an episode it strengthens those neuro-pathways making it easier to trigger the next episode. By preventing episodes by taking medication it will help improve the long term course of the disease. So the theory goes. It will also help you to cope in the immediate, and reduce your risk of suicide. Lithium is especially linked to lower suicide rates. I think we all get sick of the pills. I just filled my pill box for the week and it is depressing. I try not to think about it.
996946 tn?1503249112 How scary for you, Linda! I can understand your concern. How does Aramis seem? You might give your vet a call with this question since I know inhaling like that could certainly cause a problem. Other than that, the introductions went well? I'm glad you're home and Tommy got to meet everyone. A cat coughing is such a scary sound, isn't it. Jade was coughing way in the backyard a few weeks ago and I could hear her in the house and went running!
1670721 tn?1306337284 I have a wonderful psych doctor now who has me on a stable road with a combination of meds, im very lucky, but only got to see him after a manic episode where i thought it would be a great idea to take some lighter fuel & burn all the weeds in my garden at 3 o'clock in the morning, burning my arm in the proccess & being put in a mental ward for my efforts!
4614494 tn?1368356385 I could just send them your way when they are done here . . They are going to need a 2 hour special when it comes to my story . . ugh. I just wish I could move my treadmill upstairs then I could pretend it wasn't there - kind of like I did for the past several years before I got clean - I think I forgot I had a basement (among other things . .
Avatar f tn I agree with Jaquta, it will be interesting to read the expert's response... where is that fellow.... But seriously, I would have to say that the answer to your question depends on whether or not there is any evidence of mood cycling before this. Your family member might want to read up about cyclothymia and hypomania which are milder forms of mood cycling. If you have access to a library I like the book "Why Am I Still Depressed?
1413587 tn?1289659823 Hi Linda, There is no blood test associated with MS, so no your results do not relate to a positive MS dx. I think ANA is related to Lupus, but one positive ANA is still not positive from what I can remember. If your going through testing for MS the blood tests are to rule out the many MS mimics, MS is dx by a neurologist and 99.99% of the time with MRI confirmations, see health pages (top right of your screen, yellow icon) regarding diagnosing MS and it will explain it all better. Cheers.....
Avatar n tn Greetings. I have tachycardia episodes every now and then. I'd been planning to go swimming today, but am now in the middle of an episode - right now it's about 104/minute (they tend to range between 96 and 125). Is it OK to begin exercising while in the middle of a tachycardia episode, whether swimming, cycling or exercising with weights?
Avatar f tn But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
107366 tn?1305680375 I received a message from Glenn, Linda's husband this morning. Linda had surgery last week to remove some of her intestine. Once the surgeon got in, he found her cancer had spread extensively, and had to remove almost all of her small bowel. She is currently in ICU, but hopes to be moved to regular room sometime today, maybe. She's hoping to be home by the end of the week. Linda and Glenn both can use our prayers.
386450 tn?1263733624 s sister, not sure if I am doing this right but I wanted to tell everyone that Linda died this morning around 6am in Cape Girdeau Mo at St. Francis, Linda fought long and hard...but the cancer was to advanced. I want to thank all of her friends and everyone on here and I know Linda does too.
200220 tn?1361951554 LInda, I hope today you feel better. Yes, I agree to stop that extra med . It seems like a little bit but in reality it may not be so little .. I tried all sorts of combo's on the extra days' med from ev other day to ev third day to only on Sun and NOTHING WORKED .. my body just said 88mcgs is what is right for me and there I stay. I am a firm believer that the TSH # and Quality of LIfe must combine on their targets as long as there is no major compromise either way.
Avatar f tn I was in the hospital for 3 days due to passing out in work. This had been my third episode. I had alot of tests and thats when they found the meningioma. They say it is not the reason it happened it is old and densely calcified. They tell me to leave it alone and it doesn't have to even be followed up. So I turned to you.
Avatar m tn After my hysterectomy, the doctor started me on estrogen therapy, Premarin 0.9 daily. A few months ago, I recorded an episode of Oprah, the topic was HRT. After watching this episode, I promptly made an appointment with my family doctor to discuss other HRT options. I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .05 once a week patch, just recently (last week) added Prometrium, 200 mg. daily. My health/sanity issues have not changed.
Avatar f tn Hi, Linda! Good to see you. Sorry you lost a message - deflating isn't it? How are things going?
