When your pregnant people tell you all sorts of myths and stuff, my latest being that Im suffering from heartburn at the moment and people telling me that this means my baby will have lots of hair when he or she is born! lol anyone else been told any weird and wonderful stuff???

What are some things you ladies found to be myths once you got pregnant?

Lol my husband is half black Half Mexican and he can't do spicy food like I can, I can take a lot lol

I was fine till I scratched now my belly looks shredded and a myth is if u put ur hands over ur head the cord will wrap arounds the baby's neck

My mom had intense heartburn while pregnant with me and I came out with black hair all over. I was a flippin' gorilla! Lol.

Wives tale! I had heartburn daily with my first and she was bald until she was almost 2!

I'm having a boy but I did experience morning sickness at the end of my second trimester.

m allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude. My sister had a baby about a year ago, she's allergic to tylenol as well and her doctor told her other medicines she can take that wouldn't be harmful to the child. She can't remember what they are tho.

d like to add that I have lost two pounds between my 2 wk appointment because also for the past three weeks I have been suffering with acid flux/heartburn very badly. So bad til it makes me skip meals to avoid the heartburn. I also noticed that I wake up feeling nasally; I have to blow my nose (trying to clear my throat), it feels like the back of my throat is filled with mucus. I have not had a cold or virus or any so throat.

There is an actual study about the heartburn and hair one.

It good to eat pepper while pregnant, my friend just told me i should not eat pepper it can affect the baby so it get me so sacred am from africa and we mostly eat much pepper pls calm me down

haha no girl, trust me it wont hurt you or the baby! besides the heartburn, but you should be just fine!

I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.

My one year old nephew won't come to me anymore sine I got pregnant he does not like me. Does that mean I'm having a girl?

So people say if a new born boy likes you while you are pregnant then its a girl and when you hold and girl and she cries its a boy.....???? Is it safe to take tums while pregnant? I have acid reflux now and it's scary it tastes horrible and I don't like waking up choking in the middle of the night. I get it even after 2-3 hours of eating.

before I even found out I was pregnant, I been having lower back pains, they aren't sharp but they are there and worries me. I been having them for about 2weeks or more. I've heard a glass of wine is okay once in a while. That's what my friends doctor told her anyway. She drank a glass here and there and her daughter is just fine. However, I've chosen to not drink.at all. You may want to seek your doctors guidance if you're thinking of having a drink.

You have more blood volume while pregnant so your heart has to work harder. If the chest pains have you in tears I would call your doctor and let them know. Sometimes heartburn will mimic chest pain also, it could be a lot of things.

MI'm about 9 weeks pregnant however I went to the E.R. the other day because I had back pains as well as crampping so they performed a quick sonogram and I saw my little tadpoles heartbeat and the told me I look farther along than 8 1/2 weeks. Ok so even before pregnancy I have had issues with insomnia. It has gotten really bad since being pregnant to where its effecting my work and daily obligations. My doctor gave me a sample of ambiem from one of there reps about a week ago it only has 2 pills but I have been very hesitant to try it.

ve done several of the old wives tales/myths to see..I got boy on all the myths. Has any body done these and saw that it worked or was there something different you did to get an early peek at the baby's gender.. thanks!
