I don't believe that you will find a health insurance company that will take you on. They consider pregnancy a "pre-existing condition" an will not take you under ther plans. I am seven weeks pregnant and have called many comparable companies and no one will provide a plan.
Your best bet is to either apply for Medicaid if you qualify or find a clinic/hospital that will do a sliding scale payment (match the amount you pay based on your income). Best of luck!
Depending on your salary alone, you may be entitled to more than just health insurance. For example, I was on maternity for most of 2013, and went back to work part-time for several months. I filed my income taxes married but seperate so when they looked at my income, they actually sent me a benefits card for me and "unborn 1" ha. I already have a 1.5yr old and she qualified for health insurance regardles.
I thought I had great insurance (said 100% of my maternity was covered) and my ob and delivery hospital are in network. Yet a few days ago I got a bill for $800.00! It said it was for the harmony test from a out of network provider and the test itself wasnt covered.
What bs, in my opinion. I am a first time mom and they shoukd advise you if your insurance doesnt cover things or that you should get approval first if that us the case.
How can I get short term maternity health insurance? My husband and I have insurance and we have a son that has needed this plan bc of childhood cancer. However, my first pregnancy was under my works insurance plan (now I no longer work). I got a call Fri from Dr office that my insurance has NO maternity coverage. My apt is Mon. What do I do, I'm already 6wks pregnant?

My job doesn't afford any maternity leave benefits and since I don't have short term disability they told me I can only take a leave of absence. Is there any other way to see if I can get some type of maternity benefit? Someone had mention check with my unemployment offices. Any suggestions?
Its a new law, your larents insurance will cover you until you are 26, married or not, but not your baby. You will have to tell the insurance you are married bc you have to change your name with them.
Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?
