glucosamine

1162258 tn?1306916207 Right now I am between an XL and 1X. Some of the XL run bigger in the upper thighs (where I need it), so they still fit. Other XL are too tight for my taste, but the 1X's are too big. So I would suggest just trying a few different sizes to see what works.
Avatar n tn I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.
Avatar n tn I have been on Toprol XL and now the metoprolol( generic for toprol) for about 12 years. I have had no side effects from it. I am older than you (67 now) however I have walked 8-10 miles a day for 30 plus years.. I now usuallly walk 4 miles per day and ride a recumbuent stationay bike 10-12 miles a day with lots of tension or resistance on it.. Plus after I retired in 1996, I had a farm for about 8-9 years and did lots of hard physical work on it..
Avatar f tn XL meternity paints at goodwill or a thrift store saved my life lol
Avatar f tn I currently wear a 16/18 or XL/1X. I have found lots of XL or Plus Size from Motherhood's website, Walmart's XL fit well and like a 1X, also JC Penney and Old Navy. Also, I found some items on ebay by just searching for 1x maternity clothes. Another spot - check out your local craigslist in the baby/kids section or just do a search on maternity clothes. Also, this site is for a store here in Michigan - it's a consignment shop - and I have ordered from there previously also.

Avatar n tn m taking Ameriden Olive Leaf Extract - 6 caps a day, I was instructed to take only this brand. Plus Glucosamine 1500mg 3 X a day and hyaluronic acid (cushions joint) 100mg 3X a day. It'a lot of pills but would rather do that than take drugs with bad side-effects (had really bad reaction to Celebrex). You can go to the website Arthritis Help For Me ******* for more info. I am trying to follow an alkaline pH diet as much as poss - but it's not easy, do drink alkaline water tho'.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar n tn I have seen three cardiologists (we have homes in different states) and have gone from Norvasc to Cardizem plus Metropolol, then Bisopherol and when we returned to Florida the cardio doc put me on Cardizem yet again plus baby aspirin. Eating, reclining, or turning over in my sleep causes pounding and/or fluttering heart. I am affected daily and nightly and feel as I am not in control of my life any more...this affects everything. I only take 30mg. Cardizem as needed....
Avatar m tn The homecooked food sounds good. Maybe a slightly smaller portion each meal time? Is Gycoflex Glucosamine plus some extras? Is he on the maximum dose for his weight? Yes arthritis can be painful, but sometimes the pain can ease with gentle exercise little and often. But he will probably need some medical help for this. So get him to a vet.
Avatar m tn I give my 16 year old german shepard a glucosamine tablet twice a day. They have them for dogs at almost all the pet stores. Right now I am actually giving him tablets for humans. It is important that the dosage is correct for the dog. The popular one for dogs is Cosequin or Cosequin DS. This can be confirmed by your vet and he/she may even have additional information.
1093971 tn?1257833640 Not all glucosamine products are created equal. In order to best evaluate a product, you need to consider several things. When your healthcare and joint discomfort is at stake, take a moment and consider these criteria: What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
2121656 tn?1395674749 I would also put her on a glucosamine and chondroitin supplement. Even if she is only mildly arthritic this will help her. It works by rebuilding the cartilage that is eaten away by arthritis. It works pretty quickly, too. You might see some results as soon as two weeks after beginning treatment and usually by the time you are 30 days into treatment you will see a significant difference in her behavior with regard to showing signs of pain. Please keep us updated on how she is doing.
Avatar m tn he gave me toprol xl 50 mg. and my bp and pulse still goes high sometimes but for the most part it made a huge difference.and of course he told me to watch my salt intake, caffeine, and niccotine,i'm not a doctor but my opinion from my experiences it may not be a major concern right now,but still a concern especially if it stays that high for long periods of time.so i would atleast try to get meds for it.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar f tn I had a root canal and experienced prolonged drilling, deep and hard. This tooth was subsequently crowned. A few days after the root canal the tooth in front of it became quite sensitive. In fact, 5 days after the root canal I returned to the OS complaining of pain and wondering if it was the root canal, which he determined was not the case. Now my tooth is so extremely sensitive to cold and biting.
Avatar n tn I would certainly give him a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. I give my dog 500mg Glucosamine plus 200mg Chondroitin, and she weighs 28lbs. She had a broken legf years ago, and very occasionally got a twinge and a slight limp. Since starting the Glucosamine....within a few days!! she did not show any discomfort at all, and has not shown signs of twinges yet. Apparently it works better alongside vitamin C.
Avatar n tn ive been giving my dog which is 17kg 1000mg of glucosamine every day for a week which i will now reduce to 500mg a day is there any thing else i should give him with this or is glucosamine alone ok my dog has early signs of arthritis in his back legs its a bit of an effort for him to get up now he is 10 yrs 3mths old and had cruciate ligament surgery back in may last yr and in the other leg about 5 to 6 yrs ago
675347 tn?1365460645 Please does anyone know the dosage of Glucosamine Sulphate for dogs? How many milligrams per pound body weight? Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.
Avatar m tn I take a throid pill every morning. Would glucosamine Chondrotin interfer with it?
Avatar f tn Hi,does anyone know what dose of glucosamine & chondroitin i should give my 7yr old border collie,he is getting very stiff in his hind leg when getting up(old injury when he was 1yr old) but once he gets going he is still as fit & active as ever.
