Glucosamine plus vitamin d

Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine plus vitamin d

glucosamine

Avatar n tn My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems.
Avatar m tn Look for sublingual forms of vitamins and minerals to bypass your gut. Check out Vitamist which have a lot of sublingual products. Dr Mercola also sells vitamin D and vitamin B12 and melatonin in sublingual spray.
Avatar f tn Having rheumatoid arthritis can be considered as a risk factor for fibromyalgia. A lack of vitamin D is associated with higher risk of rheumatoid arthritis. A correct intake of vitamin D, along with calcium is very important in protecting the health of our bones. Low vitamin D may lead to early progression of the disease. You need to see a specialist. Your doctor will advise you to start vitamin D supplements.
Avatar f tn The rearch on this supplement combined with vitamin D is looking more and more promising for completely suppressing MS. Here's hoping the research holds up with more time. I have been taking this since last june and the numbness in the right side of my face is completely gone. Don't really want to get anyone's hopes up, but I am excited.
675347 tn?1365460645 This is a good article about glucosamine and chondroitin. Often vitamin C is evidently added for canines, to enhance uptake. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?
Avatar f tn Vitamin D is recommended during pregnancy, centrum pregnancy and pregnacare both have vitamin D in ingredients.
Avatar m tn Authored by a team of researchers at the California-based non-profit Autoimmunity Research Foundation, the paper goes on to point out that molecular biologists have long known that the form of vitamin D derived from food and supplements, 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-D), is a secosteroid rather than a vitamin. Like corticosteroid medications, vitamin D may provide short-term relief by lowering inflammation but may exacerbate disease symptoms over the long-term.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar n tn I would certainly give him a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. I give my dog 500mg Glucosamine plus 200mg Chondroitin, and she weighs 28lbs. She had a broken legf years ago, and very occasionally got a twinge and a slight limp. Since starting the Glucosamine....within a few days!! she did not show any discomfort at all, and has not shown signs of twinges yet. Apparently it works better alongside vitamin C.
Avatar f tn From my research, and the ailments, it appears my problem has been a continual low or none Vitamin D all along. Tests come back with no Vitamin D or very little. I ran out in the sun, with no sunscreen and now I garden, so Vitamin D should not be an issue, but it is. When I don't have enough Vitamin D, I get mouth sores (not herpes). I take Vitamin D, for two days they are gone, and then come back, until I take my next round of D once a week.
Avatar n tn Unexplained bone and muscle pain was found in 93% suffering vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is found in 98% of autoimmune thyroid patients. Vitamin D deficiency is usually found in most autoimmune diseases. Vitamin D regulates the immune system. Typically, autoimmune thyroid patients need levels at 80 - 100ng/ml (200 - 250 nmol/L). 694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
Avatar n tn There are studies indicating the vitamin D can help you lose weight; however, it's not a sure thing as yet. Vitamin D works with calcium and magnesium to prevent bone loss, plus helps restore energy levels. Vitamin B12 does NOT boost your metabolism. It gives you more energy, so you're more likely to exercise; it's the exercise that actually boosts your metabolism.
1126418 tn?1326165992 She has me taking an iron free multi-vitamin, vitamin D, fish oil and magnesium citrate. I also tried two months worth of glucosamine. The glucosamine really didn't do anything as it wasn't really my leg joints that get cranky, but rather my leg muscles. The magnesium citrate was swapped in to help with the muscles. It also helps with constipation.
Avatar f tn Is vitamin D that important? Now I'm on 2 meds per day for vitamin D also I take calcium can low levels cause more pain for fibromyalgia patients?
Avatar f tn I had a blood test that stated my Vitamin D level was 25 (low) and normal is between 30-100. My question is can vitamin d cause hair loss? I've been experiencing severe sudden hair loss the past couple months along with lots of fatigue, always tired, nausea, headaches and just a general malaise feeling. I've also had my thyroid tested and its normal a long with a scraping test on the scalp for fungus which also showed nothing. Thank you for your time.
