Avatar m tn Look for sublingual forms of vitamins and minerals to bypass your gut. Check out Vitamist which have a lot of sublingual products. Dr Mercola also sells vitamin D and vitamin B12 and melatonin in sublingual spray.
Avatar f tn Having rheumatoid arthritis can be considered as a risk factor for fibromyalgia. A lack of vitamin D is associated with higher risk of rheumatoid arthritis. A correct intake of vitamin D, along with calcium is very important in protecting the health of our bones. Low vitamin D may lead to early progression of the disease. You need to see a specialist. Your doctor will advise you to start vitamin D supplements.
Avatar f tn The rearch on this supplement combined with vitamin D is looking more and more promising for completely suppressing MS. Here's hoping the research holds up with more time. I have been taking this since last june and the numbness in the right side of my face is completely gone. Don't really want to get anyone's hopes up, but I am excited.
675347 tn?1365460645 This is a good article about glucosamine and chondroitin. Often vitamin C is evidently added for canines, to enhance uptake. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar n tn Unexplained bone and muscle pain was found in 93% suffering vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is found in 98% of autoimmune thyroid patients. Vitamin D deficiency is usually found in most autoimmune diseases. Vitamin D regulates the immune system. Typically, autoimmune thyroid patients need levels at 80 - 100ng/ml (200 - 250 nmol/L). Natural treatments for pain includes omega 3, glucosamine and chondroitin, and ginger.
Avatar n tn My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems.
Avatar m tn Thank you very much. Will follow your suggestions and revert.
694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
1126418 tn?1326165992 She has me taking an iron free multi-vitamin, vitamin D, fish oil and magnesium citrate. I also tried two months worth of glucosamine. The glucosamine really didn't do anything as it wasn't really my leg joints that get cranky, but rather my leg muscles. The magnesium citrate was swapped in to help with the muscles. It also helps with constipation.
Avatar n tn This is seen in hyperparathyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Paget’s disease of the bone, PTH secreting tumors, and Vitamin D excess. Vitamin D deficiency with low PTH can cause sarcopenia or weakness of the skeletal system. You need to consult an endocrine specialist for this who is the best judge. Sometimes if the calcium and Vitamin D supplements are not taken properly or in optimum dose, it can result in erroneous lab results. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I am a survivor of 10 years and I am finished with Tamoxifen and have till October when I will be finished with Femara. My urologist wants me to begin taking Vitamin C and Acidophalos?? I wasalways told that one shoud not take vitamins, having had cancer. I am allowed to take Evening Primrose Oil 1500 one a day to prevent breast cysts. I am most concerned about starting Vitamin C.
351404 tn?1299489130 I can just quote my doctor, saying the only necessary supplement is omega-3 and during the winter, vitamin D (I live in Norway, maybe lack of sunlight is less of a problem in UK), unless your blood tests show that you lack certain minerals or vitamins. If you don't lack the supplement you are taking, the only "effect" is side effects, and essentially you are just making your urine more expensive (as the body just sends out unnecessary supplements that way).
1137779 tn?1281542505 low carb, high protein, lots of colorful veggies and fruits, fish oil, evening primrose oil, curries, turmeric and ginger. i already take 2000iu of vitamin D due to a previous deficiency and a baby aspirin and ginkgo for the vascular issues the neuro-ophtho noted. i am also going to start using co-q10 again. hopefully this will help!
Avatar f tn I've got Hashimoto's thyroid - my souvenir from treatment I call it. Also have arthritis, my other souvenir, as I had neither before treatment. What helps considerably with the joint pain for me is taking Vitamin D. I notice the difference when I'm not taking it. My endocrinologist identified that I need Vitamin D. I stopped taking it when I ran out, couldn't exactly pinpoint a difference. I got to a point where it hurt just to walk down stairs.
557907 tn?1215882569 About mid morning, I take my probiotic, vitamin D, then about noon, I have another dose of T3 med. I take calcium, magnesium, selenium, etc before bed. I think the biggest issue is consistency. If you do the same thing every day, you should be okay and if you're taking vitamins/minerals too close to thyroid med, you may have to increase your thyroid med dosage. High fiber foods also, inhibit absorption of thyroid med.

Avatar f tn For cats with FLUTD, we have found that a couple natural cat vitamin supplements with glucosamine, MSM, cranberry extract, etc have proven quite helpful to eliminate recurrences of lower urinary tract infections in cats like yours. Should you want to follow up on this, it would be my pleasure. With respect to your cats food, home made diets are excellent, provide real, honest nutrients and are quite easy to prepare and very cost effective.
Avatar n tn Vitamin D-2000 mg.
Avatar n tn I was Using a NetiPot twice and day, on Domperidone, vitamin E, D, Glucosamine and Estrosense. I think numbness only started when I took a sublingual B12 vitamin. Since then, I have not touched and vitamins. No Pharmacists or Doctors can tell me what's wrong. Does anyone have a clue why I have the numbness?
Avatar m tn Now I only use it before or after training and I feel better than I have done in a long time and can train no problem. I also take vitamin K2, vitamin D and calcium, cod live oil and a glucosamine supplement but I am almost positive it is the magnesium spray which has helped me with this. It’s worth a try at least and its only about 17 euro and the spray lasts just over a month.
Avatar m tn glucosamine, with vitamin c as the two work best together, and hyaluronic acid. some do get better results from chondroitin but it is not necessary, or shark cartilage. fish/flax oil will lube 'em up for you also. froobar, C.N.
Avatar f tn t swollen, no redness, no warmth, just pain. But according to my doc, my Vitamin D is also really low and both can contribute to a person not feeling well. So to finally get to my point - what do you take for joint pain? Magnesium? Coenzyme Q10? Please share your tips and tricks for feeling better.
Avatar n tn I would certainly give him a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. I give my dog 500mg Glucosamine plus 200mg Chondroitin, and she weighs 28lbs. She had a broken legf years ago, and very occasionally got a twinge and a slight limp. Since starting the Glucosamine....within a few days!! she did not show any discomfort at all, and has not shown signs of twinges yet. Apparently it works better alongside vitamin C.
