694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
675347 tn?1365460645 This is a good article about glucosamine and chondroitin. Often vitamin C is evidently added for canines, to enhance uptake. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?
Avatar f tn Natural dog arthritis supplements offering your dog the correct amounts of Glucosamine, MSM, Chondroitan sulfate, Hyaluronic acid, Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin C will help to relieve your dogs arthritis pain and nourish his joints. Should you want to follow up on this with me, that would be fine.
557907 tn?1215882569 Other meds and vitamin/minerals/supplements, particularly calcium and magnesium, should be separated from thyroid meds by about 4 hours, but I know that doesn't fit everyone's schedule. I take my Tirosint (T4), first, then an hour or so later, my T3 med and diuretic. That's between 6 am and 7 am. About mid morning, I take my probiotic, vitamin D, then about noon, I have another dose of T3 med. I take calcium, magnesium, selenium, etc before bed.
Avatar n tn At any rate, there are so many remedies for joint inflammation -- MSM, chondroiton and glucosamine sulfate, proteolytic enzymes such as bromelain, quercitin, vitamin C, ginger, turmeric, boswellia, devil's claw, yucca -- I mean, the list is very long. Perhaps the best thing is to buy a good book on natural treatment of this problem since there are so many combinations of options to choose from.
Avatar n tn s the vitreous pulling on it that tears the retina away. The vitreous humour, by the way, contains the second highest concentration of vitamin C in the body. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant as well as being necessary for the formation of collagen. I don't know whether upping your vitamin C intake would help. Judily.
Avatar m tn s diet such as Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate, Omega Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Selenium, and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) all assist in decreasing inflammation and improving the body's ability to repair and strengthen tissues. Supplements, however, will not reverse structural changes in a joint such as torn cartilage, calcium deposits and advanced scar tissue. It could therefore be that the Glocosomine isn't working because it can't remedy the particular problem your dog has.
20898027 tn?1590467808 How? Vitamin C is an antioxidant. Vitamin E works on blood vessels and is fat soluble, so it's not going to get anywhere near a shoulder. Clarification?
Avatar m tn s fish oil with enhanced DHA and EPA (15 grams daily), megadose vitamin E, and megadose glucosamine+chondroitin+MSM daily for anti inflammatory effects for my joint and tendon problems. I am looking to treat trauma of the brachial tendon to treat pain during bicep workouts by using a glucosamine cream. I have heard anecdotally that the cream format increases bio-availability by a staggering amount and that the oral supplement is essentially a snake oil product.
Avatar n tn My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems.

638291 tn?1233060603 There has been discussions if the collagen supplement really help because it may not get to the areas of the body due to digestive system breaking it down, or just taking the building blocks of collagen which is Vitamin C and Glucosamine benefit more. It all leads back to eating all the healthy foods daily, especially fruits and vegetables, for the nutrients you need for a healthy body and to exercise to decrease stress which causes aging.
Avatar n tn Other than that, I take a multi-vitamin, extra vit-c, citri-cal calcium, vit-b, omegas, glucosamine and condritin, and an herbal remedy for ovairian cysts called DonQui. I sometimes also take white willow bark for pain, either in capsul form or as a hot tea beverage.
1110049 tn?1409402144 I decided to look into my natural physician's book and here's what I found. Lots and lots of supplement suggestions! "antioxidants, apis melifica, ashwagandha, bee pollen, black cohash, boswellia, bromelain, cayenne, cell salts, evening primrose oil, feverfew, fish oil, flaxseed, ginger root, ledum, lycopdium, MSM, nettle, phytonutrients, pulsatilla, rhus toxicodendron, turmeric, vitamin C, Vitamin E" and staying away from foods that cause inflammation.
Avatar f tn s claw, ginger, boswellia, turmeric, proteolytic enzymes, antihistamines such as scuttelaria, freeze dried nettles, bromelain quercitin and Vitamin C combinations, just a very large number of substances in nature that can help with inflammation for some people. As for eating properly, that's always in question, because what's healthy for one might not be for another.
Avatar n tn As I ranted and raved to my husband over breakfast, I picked up my g/c and was about to take it when I realized it was the only thing I was doing differently since the last cholesterol test. I stopped taking it, redid the cholesterol two weeks later, and it was back down the 100 points.
1093971 tn?1257833640 What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame. Since you didn’t ask about the latter I’ll stick to glucosamine by itself. If you search the Internet you’ll see inconclusive evidence of glucosamine having negative effects on blood sugar.

Avatar f tn Hi-The fatty tumors are benign overgrowths of fat cells. They are nothing to worry about at all and do not adversely affect your dogs health. The Rimadyl however KILLS dogs and this is something you need to understand. In fact since the Rimadyl Class Action Law Suit, veterinarians are suppose to explain this and have pet owners sign a release form before prescribing this medication. Rimadyl is also available under many other names carprofen, vetprofen etc.

I have been taking this since last june and the numbness in the right side of my face is completely gone. Don't really want to get anyone's hopes up, but I am excited.
